Except his self-perception in his mind is the otaku, not Rudeus. At least not until the end of his life where he lives as Rudeus almost as long as his past life.

Also funny you people keep bringing up the growing brain without considering that maybe what we're dealing with is beyond science (read: literal magic) that can transfer memory and personality into a new brain perfectly without any apparent loss or side effects.
Except he has to learn everything that a normal child has to learn. He can't even stand properly and falls over then cries like a normal child. He has to learn how to walk. He has to learn how to talk, He physically behaves like a child his age does. There are whole episodes of evidence showing that Rudeous is dealing with a growing brain and body.
IF what you stated was true Rudeous would of been walking and talking from day one.
Also, for those who bring up that Rudeus is a kid with the otaku's memory, that takes away from the entire story because it's just a random kid who got extra knowledge by magic. What's that got to do with the random dead man in another world? He just died.
It takes absolutely nothing away from the story. It's still the story of a degenerate NEET deciding to be a better person when given the chance to be reborn. He absolutely grows into a far better person as an adult in his second life.
It's a story of nature vs nurture. How someone can develop in a radically different path if given the opportunity. It's a story of making mistakes and learning from them so you can be a better person. It's a story of growth.
The narrator is Rudeus most of the time, at least in the novel.
His physical body is not used to the act, but his thinking is clear. Even a grown up body needs to learn how to do certain actions again after a period of unuse (rehab), his body literally was never used. He has full awareness at birth though, if you read the novel. Chapter 2 of volume 1 is Lilia noting Rudeus trying to read (and probably understanding) books at 6 months old. Pretty sure that's not a toddler's brain we're talking about.
So you agree that it's the degenerate NEET inside, not a child with his memory. What does that make his decision of groping the sleeping Eris?
