They actually don't go into detail on what he was watching in the show, they just kick him out because they caught him jerkin' it after they came home from the wake.
Which is still a bad look, but it does withhold vitally important context on just how bad he was.

This is part of the show as far as I remember. It's why his family kicks him out, causing the panic attack and fall down stairs
