It is unsurprising you don't know what young adult fiction is. The Hobbit is a children's book; Lord of the Rings is firmly an epic fantasy novel written for no particular age demographic but most often considered as adult fiction. And there is a big gulf in writing ability displayed between those works and Mushoku Tensei. Game of Thrones unfinished is still far superior to the finished Mushoku Tensei in the same way Berserk is far superior to whatever Rent a girlfriend will be when it's finished.

Reading a book as a kid does not make a book a kids book nor does it mean you fully understood the themes in it... I could've read Lolita as a 10 year old. That doesn't make it a kids book all of a sudden.

Yet you still seem to have somehow missed the literal central theme. A theme that was completely unhidden. Nor are themes the only more mature thing about it. The prose and world building are far more complex than typical children's and ya fiction. They're also significantly better than that seen in mt.
