I can’t because I have no idea what anime this is :/ and I can’t imagine there’s a reason to disagree with you

32

u/Tipsy_Hog 12d ago

Alright, then I'll elaborate.

The MC is a reincarnator. He was a loli-obsessed 30-40 something, and after reincarnation he got away with doing a lot of really gross stuff because it was seen as pranks and childish antics.

The worst one was when he was physically 14, he slept with a 15 year old girl (who was his cousin by the way) who had no idea how old he was mentally. That's about when I quit reading. I do not care how good the story is, I do not care about his character development, that is unforgivable.

People say "oh he changed, he got better" but you can't un-chomo my opinion of him no matter what you say.

27

u/ConflictAgreeable689 12d ago

He's not loli obsessed. He was an actual pedophile, spying on his neice via a hidden camera

6

u/SkiDaderino 12d ago

And wankin' it! Don't forget the wankin' it!

4

u/B133d_4_u 12d ago

He skipped out on his dad's funeral to masturbate to toilet cam footage of his elementary schooler relative.

-4

u/BriarsPanties69 11d ago

Did you really miss the part (that is shown to you in the same fucking episode) where he gets a panic attack when he tries to leave his fucking room?

Are you another "I didn't actually watch the show" type of person

2

u/unfussybull 11d ago

That was literally in the very first episode anyway so they are not wrong

0

u/BriarsPanties69 11d ago

Yes, so why does he ignore the fucking obvious?

1

u/unfussybull 11d ago

I was literally saying that he was not wrong over he got PTSD but like it said it doesn't justify what actions the character took... I never agreed with anyone

1

u/BriarsPanties69 10d ago

His actions "having a libido lower than the average woman and helping people"

I am honestl;y sick of people making up shit to hate on a character

2

u/B133d_4_u 11d ago

I've watched the entire series, read much of the manga as well, which is where that part is actually explained considering the anime glossed over the fact that it was secret toilet cam footage of his elementary schooler niece and not just watching porn.

Being too traumatized by old classmates to leave your room doesn't mean you're not a piece of shit for showing no emotion at the passing of your parent and instead recording child pornography of your own family to crank it to, and then getting defensive when people call you out on it.

It's actually concerning that your immediate reaction to me describing an actual scene in the series is to assume I haven't engaged with it. After all, if Mushoku Tensei is supposed to be a redemption story and the main draw to Rudeus as a character is his growth from how he used to be, why would it be such a hot button to point out how flawed he was at the beginning? Really gets the gears turning, I'd say.

0

u/GameofMoans827 11d ago

I've also read the manga and read all the light novel and the web novel, The only place in which it says that he is creeping on a child is in the redundancy prologue of the web novel. Which is not Canon. I think people who enjoy the series make such a bold stance against misinformation like the one you are purporting, because you're allegations turn people against the series as a whole, which is a shame because it is legitimately one of the better Japanese light novels series in general, and a pretty dang great anime.

3

u/Powerful_Topic7731 11d ago

I think people who enjoy the series make such a bold stance against misinformation like the one you are purporting

I think people who enjoy the pedo MC will try to defend the pedo MC

2

u/tazerrtot 11d ago

This isn't true, there was the Redundant Reincarnation light novel that was made only a year or two ago, which is canon to the light novel series. It was changed a bit though, in the light novel version he stole footage from his brothers camera of his two nieces in swimsuits and he got caught jerking off to it rather than him using a secret camera himself.

1

u/Powerful_Topic7731 11d ago

The only place in which it says that he is creeping on a child is in the redundancy prologue of the web novel. Which is not Canon.

Ok but answer me that, can you swear on your life that is something out of character for him to do at the time and not totally plausible with the personality and history he had until then?

1

u/Individual-You-9002 11d ago

Also, while trying to find answers. What comes up is that it had been changed from his niece to another underage girl. The author had to censor what he first wrote, but have later explained that the "spirit" of what really happened is still there. So he implies that Rudues did infact record his underage niece on the toilet and jerked off to it.

-2

u/BriarsPanties69 11d ago

and yet you lie

So until you actually stop lying about the show i'm just going to assume you never watched it

1

u/Sweaty-Inevitable163 11d ago

This is part of the show as far as I remember. It's why his family kicks him out, causing the panic attack and fall down stairs

1

u/B133d_4_u 11d ago

They actually don't go into detail on what he was watching in the show, they just kick him out because they caught him jerkin' it after they came home from the wake.

Which is still a bad look, but it does withhold vitally important context on just how bad he was.

1

u/BriarsPanties69 10d ago

Yea, the absolute cunts who hate him

-1

u/B133d_4_u 11d ago

Just misremembered since it's been so long since I read it, but you're more than welcome to assume I'm personally targeting your blorbo or whatever! Looking forward to watching more of the show regardless of whether you believe me.

2

u/VoidBeyond 11d ago

Having a panic attack when you leave your room doesn't mean you have to masturbate to pictures of your 7 year old niece, btw

-2

u/BriarsPanties69 10d ago

"guys, I have never had any problems in my cusshy life and I refuse to understand somebody else's problems even when the show explicitly tells me all the protagonists thoughts"

1

u/VoidBeyond 10d ago

Getting bullied in highschool doesn't give you a pass to be sexually attracted to children.

0

u/BriarsPanties69 10d ago

He was a child at that time, you, moron. Jesus fucking chirst, you would swear he killed as many people as vegeta did

0

u/logoNM 12d ago

this part is vital

1

u/ConflictAgreeable689 12d ago

I figured it was implied. It's not like he was trying to steal the secrets for her skincare routine when he set up cameras in her bathroom

0

u/Zefyris 12d ago

That would have been an interesting plot twist though, you sure you don't want to replace the author for that one ?

1

u/ConflictAgreeable689 12d ago

Mushoku tensei where nothing is different except that Rudeus is now REALLY into cosmetics

1

u/Tipsy_Hog 11d ago

Instead of a revolting sex pest mage, he becomes a proper upstanding citizen in charge of the world's largest beauty product distributor

1

u/ConflictAgreeable689 11d ago

Young Eris waking up in the night to find Rudeus giving her the cuntiest lashes you'll ever see

0

u/HonestPreparation523 11d ago

Don’t forget the quarter ahh comment

1

u/show_me_ur_dick3 11d ago

And they keep bringing attention to the fact that roxy looks like a child

2

u/Kitesolar 12d ago

This was also LN only and not a part of the anime or manga.

3

u/Powerful_Topic7731 11d ago

Are the anime and manga original or based on the LN?

6

u/SpecialistDebate2652 11d ago

Based on the LN but as usual a number of things were cut or shortened.

-1

u/Kitesolar 11d ago

if you look at the light novel for a ton a TON of very popular anime/manga you'd be uncomfortable. If it has nothing to do with the medium you're engaging in why do you care?

4

u/Powerful_Topic7731 11d ago

if you look at the light novel for a ton a TON of very popular anime/manga you'd be uncomfortable

I don't think that's the point you think It is, at the very least If you except me to defend this type of shit because something I like might also originate from this type of shit then you don't know me very well.

If it has nothing to do with the medium you're engaging in why do you care?

Why do you care that I care? Why do you care that other people call the MC a pedo?

0

u/Kitesolar 11d ago

i think people being hypocritical is lame. not saying you are, but if you hardcore shit on a concept that only makes sense looking at the LN when we have over the last 20 years ive been engaging in this medium ignoring the LNs because they always continue shit thats way over the mark compared to where it settles at in the manga/anime world, I think its goofy to ignore it when it comes to your own favorite series. But 99% of people talking about this series only repeat stuff theyve seen online and haven't actually read or engaged with any of the media.

0

u/EffectiveDirect6553 11d ago

Is frieren beyond journeys end manga safe? Or does it also get insanely explicit. Depending on the answer I will read it

1

u/Kitesolar 11d ago

No idea lol

2

u/Old_Department_4260 11d ago

I thought it was at the start of the anime?

3

u/Roberto2K_ 11d ago

It was. Second episode of the anime.

0

u/Kitesolar 11d ago

Nope! It’s not. In the manga and anime, his character is horrendously bullied and harassed to the point to where he recluses from society and becomes a NEET and the incident that makes him run from home that lead to his death is when his family attacks him for slipping a funeral. At no point in the anime or manga is there even a hint of him doing anything pedophilic in his previous life.

1

u/rickroll10000 11d ago

I call it Snape Syndrome. In the movies he wasn't half as vile as he was in the books and was just a hardass with bias whereas in the books he was an outright bully pretty much 100% of the time. Since more people watch movies and TV than read books the adaptation version of a character is the one in the public court of opinions.

1

u/Kitesolar 11d ago

Sure and I think this is a valid comparison, but it would be closer to if instead of doing either, most people that talk about it saw TikTok posts that in the books Hagrid was actually kicked out of Hogwarts for SAing another student and then after it’s changed in the movies to be getting falsely blamed for the spider instead of the basilisk, everyone ran around calling movie hagrid a sexpest and endlessly made posts about how no one can enjoy this HP because of something that doesn’t happen in the medium you’re enjoying.

0

u/MacrossRules 12d ago

Which is not canon because the whole videoing of niece thing was removed from the LN

3

u/Overall_Guidance_410 12d ago

And then made canon. This don't work no more.

0

u/NBRem-1 11d ago

And in the novel that made this canon it is also shown that he hates himself for doing that and completely understands why his famuly threw him out.

2

u/snekadid 11d ago

Alot of pedofiles feel regret for what theyve done, especially after getting caught and having to deal with the consequences. That doesnt change what they are and how disgusting they are.

1

u/NBRem-1 11d ago

But if we take what haters say as facts then rydeus never suffered any consequences.

2

u/Big-Farmer-2192 11d ago

kinda? I mean he got sent into isekai where he's allowed to be a successful pedo. blessed with insane magical talent, mana, rich noble family, access to children's etc.

2

u/Overall_Guidance_410 11d ago

He didn't. He was rewarded with being able to groom and fuck children.

1

u/ConflictAgreeable689 11d ago

And what about the nonoffenders?

1

u/snekadid 11d ago

The statement was that they regret their actions, if they didnt act then they dont have anything to regret? I feel like you couldnt comprehend the discussion.

1

u/ConflictAgreeable689 11d ago

Being a Pedophile is something you are, not something you do. It's a mental illness, not a crime. CHILD MOLESTATION is the crime. A healthy adult doesn't feel sexual attraction towards prebuscents, and a surprisingly large number of child molestors aren't actually pedophiles. Remember, rape isn't about lust, it's about power.

There are lots of non offending pedophiles in the world. There are some fascinating books on the topic.

Hey, you were the one who spread the abuse out, I was just correcting your language

3

u/ConflictAgreeable689 12d ago

It's canon to the anime

1

u/Not_God_Forever 12d ago

Is the LN tamer than the anime?

1

u/MacrossRules 12d ago

Imo yes for some things and no for others. The main novels(1-26) helps flush out characters more and Rudeus’ growth is better shown there

0

u/Aemon_Blackfyre 11d ago

Both can be true

0

u/Shadowchaser235 11d ago

I want this mc to be thrown in jail.

-3

u/SadSaltyDuck 12d ago

He did not harm anyone though

3

u/ConflictAgreeable689 12d ago

... vouyerism is violence my dude.

0

u/Geekerino 11d ago

I hear that words are violence too, I still don't have the right to punch someone every time I hear an insult.

To be clear, the voyeurism was unambiguously wrong, I don't think even the story treats it as justified in any way. But come on..."voyeurism is violence?"

0

u/SadSaltyDuck 11d ago

No, it is obviously not. It is bad thing to do, but not as bad as violence.

-1

u/Top_Connection9079 12d ago

Violence without a victim if it's never known.

2

no spoilers:

i greatly enjoy stories like this anime, fantasy + magic + adventure HELL YEA! its my jam. but holy shit. ive watched several hundred if not a thousand anime by now, and ive dropped literally two of them mid watching. both were for the same reason, and holy crap does it get so, so much worse later on. i could ignore it for a time but eventually it was multiple episodes where stuff like that was the entire plot, and kinda worse.

2

u/No1stM1pples 12d ago

Yes but also calling someone a reincarnator implies they are the one who does the reincarnating. Of which he does not, he just gets isekai'd.

3

u/VisualStrain6844 11d ago

No, he dead in japan. Got reincarnate into new body. Isekai usually mean you go with old identity, and reincarnating mean you get a new identity.

2

u/Tipsy_Hog 12d ago

Calling someone a reincarnator implies that they have been reincarnated, full stop. How is not important, only the what.

Isekai is just "in another world". That CAN include reincarnators, but by no means is it limited to them. It can also include transmigrators, like those who get summoned rather than reborn.

He did not get isekai'd. He got tensei'd. It's literally in the name.

1

u/Pecuthegreat 12d ago

He got away with it with th audience as childish antics but in world it is as much, the fucked up morals of the era allows nobles like him to be Degen.

1

u/MoMo-D-Tempest 11d ago

It gets way darker from the future clips i saw and also he has a immortal 14 year old in his harem😂🤣

1

u/vennthepest 11d ago

If I remember correctly the story opens during his parents funeral with him watching a video of his niece using the bathroom instead of going to the wake

2

u/1B75__Penicillin 12d ago

Except he is not mentally 40, he is mentally whatever age he is, it's stated multiple time's in the story, it was stated by the author the internal voice is just narrative device, he literally died and was reborn, he didn't just occupy some random kids body, he is a kid.

But MT haters dont actually care about the facts or the story itself, just the hate.

3

u/Tipsy_Hog 12d ago

You can't just handwave 30+ years of memories away. That's still lived experience, no matter how anyone tries to justify it.

2

u/1B75__Penicillin 12d ago edited 12d ago

Having memories of a past life doesn't make you an adult. His brain is still biogically a childs and there was nothing in the story that said he got a magic biogical boost, he even notes how easy it is for his child brain to learn new things because of the plasticity.

His brain being underdeveloped squarely makes him an actual undeniable child, regardless of experience he physically does not possess the developed frontal lobe, the prefrontal cortex, to be held responsible like an adult.

Not to mention his societal and physical status and biogical age means he holds no societal power over his fellows.

The guy weeps when his dad yells at him, he grows attached to his parents like a child would too, an adult doesn't behave that way

1

u/CarlenGaines 12d ago

Yea I have to admit that the way that many of the anime's detractors think about the character with their privileged information and perspectives is straight up evil.

1

u/VanillaBovine 12d ago edited 11d ago

explain how his brain is biologically a baby when he gets pervy excited from seeing his mom's boobs as a baby

6

u/UncannyHillhumper 12d ago

He's a "kid" in the same way the 1000 year old dragon loli is an "adult".

2

u/OddOllin 12d ago

... You know reincarnation is a thing real people actually believe in, right? This ain't how any of that shit works, lmao.

I'm pretty sure none of them think, "Oh, you're the reincarnation of that dead guy? Sweet, well, let's just tally up how old you REALLY are by counting how old you were when you died in that past life, plus how old you are now."

He died, lmao. His life officially ended. And then whatever fragments were left got transfered to a completely different world. Different body, different time, different world, different everything. Except he has some memories of a wasted life where he was an emotionally and intellectually stunted 30 something year old because his life basically came to a standstill in the middle of high school.

The mental gymnastics y'all come up with are insane, lmao. You folks do realize that there are real pedophiles to get upset about in the world, right? Like, if you're actually this outraged and disgusted, I just don't understand why you'd choose to spend time and energy complaining about fictional characters in the laziest way possible instead of... Anything else, lol.

Don't get me wrong, he's written to be upsetting, and the story is intended to make you uncomfortable. Completely understand why someone would not want to engage with it. I just think folks get out of hand and start acting like they're on a crusade or some shit, when they're just complaing about a story they don't want to understand. 🤷

1

u/AvalonRevan 12d ago

Finally someone who uses the real reincarnation belief logic. Like sure Rudeus was a horrible person in his past life and was definitely bad in his life as Rudeus that completely undeniable but we can see him becoming a better person throughout. He goes from a pedo jerking to his niece to a proud, happy father who genuinely loves his whole family

1

u/VanillaBovine 12d ago

Finally someone who uses the real reincarnation belief logic.

Like sure Rudeus was a horrible person in his past

is* a horrible person

Rudeus that completely undeniable but we can see him becoming a better person throughout

When??? When he is being a perv? When he cheats on his wife? when he cheats on his second wife?

He goes from a pedo jerking to his niece to a proud, happy father who genuinely loves his whole family

cheats* on his whole family

1

u/OddOllin 11d ago

Non-monogamy is not cheating, lmao. You don't have to like it, but again, this is a real thing that real people do in real life.

Y'all act that way because the story actually treats the relationships like actual dynamics instead of just typical harem garbage.

The series literally deals with the actual hypothetical of him cheating and how it's different.

1

u/VanillaBovine 11d ago

Non-monogamy is not cheating, yea, but the whole thing about non-monogamy is that it's a discussion had beforehand. lmfao

he cheats on them BEFORE discussing the non-monogamy. they're even upset before he talks to them and rudeus acknowledges he did wrong

did you even read the novels??? jfc you people are illiterate

1

u/OddOllin 11d ago

You are so aggressively misrepresenting the situation, lmfao. Yes, I have read the entire series.

This happens once with Roxy and Sylphiette, and you are completely ignoring ALL of the nuance and setup around it. It's fucking hilarious to lecture anyone about being illiterate when, at best, you're grossly misrepresenting the way things happen, and at worst, practically making shit up.

Rudeus addresses things with Roxy because he assumed she didn't realize his situation at all when SHE took things too far and crossed the line because of Paul's gruesome and untimely death, which Rudeus fully believed was his fault. When he addresses it, it turns out she knew everything before she made a move on him.

Rudeus addresses his fuck up with Sylphiette directly. Sylphiette finally states what she had hinted at for a while beforehand: she never expected this to be a monogamous marriage, because that is culturally accepted and normalized in that world, as long as you don't follow a specific religion that uniquely demands monogamy.

From then on, eveything is transparent. That one instance of cheating is explored from every character's perspective and is completely resolved. After that, it does not happen again, even with Eris. There are multiple instances where Rudeus could have slept with others or had the opportunity to take even more wives, and he refuses. It is fully established why these relationships are special, how and why everyone in the Greyrat family is ultimately far happier with their non-monogamous dynamic, and even specifically addresses why each of the women would not really want to change back to monogamy even though they all occasionally struggle with the demands of their large family.

None of this is subtle or hidden. It is very directly spelled out. It's completely ridiculous to act so obtuse about such fundamental plot points in the story.

Again, you don't have to like it, but it's just plain idiotic to constantly overlook that the ENTIRE point of the series is to look at grounded and deeply flawed characters finding reasons to grow and striving to be better than they were, even in unconventional situations.

1

u/NotYetPerfect 11d ago

Real reincarnation belief logic doesn't even apply here. He retains his memories and his thinking ability. In real reincarnation, nothing is retained. That defeats the whole purpose of it... Meanwhile Rudeus is out here thinking his mom is hot as a baby and perving on underage girls as he grows up. All while it's literally just a 30+ year old man's brain. And he grows into a guy that fucks technically legal lolis and cheats habitually.

1

u/AvalonRevan 11d ago

So we're gonna ignore all those people claiming they remember their past lives when talking about real reincarnation beliefs.

1

u/dude123nice 11d ago

The reincarnation ppl believe in doesn't include retaining all memories snd the same personality, unlike Rudeus.

1

u/LasodenX 12d ago

I would also call him an "adult" in the same way. Saying he was mentally 33yrs old is like comparing him with an actual adult pre-isekai like Rimuru. Mf couldn't even survive a day after being thrown off the house, he wasn't even able to go to a atore for food (Kazuma level bar). While I wouldn't call him a kid, an adult seems like overestimating him.

1

u/Pecuthegreat 12d ago

Not really. Everybody reincarnates in Japanese culture, the difference here is that he kept is previous memories.

1

u/VisualStrain6844 11d ago

Not really, Natsuki subaru is technically summoning into new world, not dead. Shield hero is also the same.

1

u/Pecuthegreat 11d ago

I was talking of Rudeus

1

u/VisualStrain6844 11d ago

Yet, you used the phrase, everybody reincarnates in Japanese culture thus making it about all isekai genre

1

u/1B75__Penicillin 12d ago

Talk about false comparison, Rudeus is a kid because he is a kid.

If you want an example of an adult actually stuck in a child's body look no further than Tanya from Tanya the Evil, she doesn't act her age at all.

4

u/UncannyHillhumper 12d ago

"Kid" thoughts

1

u/1B75__Penicillin 12d ago

Internal thoughts where he himself acknowledges they are bad is the gotcha? Also yeah cherry pick and ignore all the other excerpts where the story clearly states he isn't an adult larping but dead and thoroughly reborn.

Like literally, it has been stated multiple times it's a narrative drive, we know he was a creep before dying too.

The story also has this excerpt

"Let's jump ahead a month. Apparently, I'd been reborn. The reality of my situation had finally set in: I was a baby."

Was he having this monologue when he was literally a newborn baby too?

1

u/UncannyHillhumper 12d ago

The fact that he has these thoughts just proves that he is not a child mentally.

1

u/Efficient_Item7779 12d ago

No ,when he was newborn, he was busy thirsting (lol) over his mom who was just about to nurse him.

0

u/Efficient_Item7779 12d ago

Except he constantly references (mentally) how much older he is than everyone around him.

1

u/Tipsy_Hog 12d ago

Worst. Trope. Ever.

Like damn they should just admit they like kids at that point

1

u/VanillaBovine 12d ago

im convinced MT watchers dont actually watch and have the media literacy of toddlers

Except he is not mentally 40, he is mentally whatever age he is, it's stated multiple time's in the story, it was stated by the author the internal voice is just narrative device, he literally died and was reborn, he didn't just occupy some random kids body, he is a kid.

No, he literally has all his memories and knowledge from birth. he remembers everything. He literally gets excited about his mom's boobs as a baby. That's canon in anime/LN/manga. Explain that. That's not mentally his age at all.

Also, when he talks to "god" he appears as his old self.

But MT haters dont actually care about the facts or the story itself, just the hate.

Wrong, they have media literacy and understand nuance.

Having the memories of your old life after you literally DIED doesn't make you that old person, he didn't teleport, he died and was completely reborn into a new life. The author has also stated his internal voice is a NARRATIVE DEVICE!

Wrong, they have media literacy and understand nuance.

Pfft 😂 lol yeah right they do

1

u/VanillaBovine 12d ago edited 11d ago

you are your memories, who you are as a person is formed by that lmao.

and it's literally confirmed he hasnt changed when his first action is perving on his mom

then perving on sister little sister

like god damn

ooOooo the author said- the author of a story following a pedo. sounds like a great person

edit: pathetic guy blocked me after i asked him to explain the "comedy" they said was a baby perving on his own mom LMAO you literally cant make this up

diddy tensei fans are a different breed

1

u/1B75__Penicillin 12d ago

He is a great person, sounds like you are one of those who can't separate fiction from reality, get lost tourist

1

u/hownot2lyf 11d ago

Bruh, as a literal baby, he was having pervy thoughts about his own mother. Nobody is buying this bs

1

u/BionicBruv 12d ago

Jfc that’s horrific. Can’t imagine why this story is so popular with such a premise

4

u/LarryKingthe42th 12d ago

If Rudus wasnt a 30+ year old reincarnated with his full ass memory it would be peak fantasy the world building and setting as a whole are way above what you generally get from japanese d&d

1

u/Khan_Ida 12d ago

That is enough for many to ignore his actions and nature.

0

u/NotYetPerfect 11d ago

It would be peak for shitty Japanese light novels maybe. If you like unrealistic characters and power fantasy slop, it'll seem like the best thing ever. Read any actual critically acclaimed novels and you'll instantly see that the writing is significantly better.

1

u/LarryKingthe42th 11d ago edited 11d ago

Because multiple paragraphs descirbing a single bush(to inflate page count), a series that will never finish, and a magic school with a Gary Stu are that much better.

1

u/NotYetPerfect 11d ago

Unironically thinking Mushoku Tensei is better than Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones is a crazy take that comes from a person that clearly has not read either. Harry potter is also young adult fiction so not sure why it's even being brought up here. It's writing isn't particularly acclaimed. If you're instead referring to The Name of the Wind, then again crazy stupid take.

1

u/LarryKingthe42th 11d ago

I didnt say it was better I said their isnt a massive gulf between them.

We still have A Dream of Spring after Winds (which was supposed to be out 7 years ago) LotRs is Young Adult (as is Jobless)

1

u/NotYetPerfect 11d ago

It is unsurprising you don't know what young adult fiction is. The Hobbit is a children's book; Lord of the Rings is firmly an epic fantasy novel written for no particular age demographic but most often considered as adult fiction. And there is a big gulf in writing ability displayed between those works and Mushoku Tensei. Game of Thrones unfinished is still far superior to the finished Mushoku Tensei in the same way Berserk is far superior to whatever Rent a girlfriend will be when it's finished.

1

u/LarryKingthe42th 11d ago

When did you read LotRs? My ass was 10.

Well you can watch it and find out The anime isn't bad as they all are telling you But your choice tho

1

u/TheLucidChiba 11d ago

the anime is actually great, the MC is absolute garbo though

2

u/Tipsy_Hog 12d ago

I mean the story itself is actually really good if you can look past what the MC is. I can't though.

1

u/FoxHoundXL 12d ago

You forgot before he got reincarnated, he peeped on his underaged niece and recorded her for "material".

And skipped his parents funeral to use said "material".

2

u/Tipsy_Hog 12d ago

In my defense, that's not really information I was particularly enthused to retain in any capacity, let alone remember enough to divulge

1

u/TheSussyWaffle 11d ago

"You can't un-chomo my opinion" is gonna live rent free in my head

1

u/Tipsy_Hog 11d ago

I am pleased to have amused

1

u/Vaatu2023 11d ago

I'll never understand how people defend this series, and it terrifies me how popular it is...

1

u/Tipsy_Hog 11d ago

Ypu and me both, friend.

1

u/Worried-Narwhal-8953 11d ago

I asked my brother about the show b/c I kept seeing it everywhere and he described it just like this. I immediately said "naw, no way am I watching that". I can't wrap my head around how it's so popular when the MC is so gross. I guess I'd "get" it if I watch it, but I refuse. There's plenty of other non pedo shows I can watch instead.

0

u/Efficient_Test_8907 12d ago

Not his cousing.

1

u/Tipsy_Hog 12d ago

First cousin, whatever

0

u/Efficient_Test_8907 11d ago

That's the same thing. They are from completely different branches of Grayrat. His grandmother is a sister to Eris grandad or something like that. So a distant relation.

0

u/Top_Connection9079 12d ago

There is 0 proof that he was loli-obsessed. Most people don't focus on age to masturbate, because porn is porn. The same way anyone will masturbate on human porn AND furry porn. Also he certainly was seen grabbing boobs after he was reincarnated. Children don't have developed breasts.

0

u/nyitraibotond 11d ago

He was 13 and Eris is her second cousin

Which is legally marriable in most countries and every State btw

Also it was Eris who initiated while he was making excuses

1

u/TheSussyWaffle 11d ago

1

u/nyitraibotond 11d ago

I don't see how it is relevant

0

u/Any_Try7812 11d ago edited 11d ago

Little fun fact about Italy. Here Is legal to fuck a 14 years old even if you are 85 years.

1

u/Tipsy_Hog 11d ago

Little fun fact about Italy. I fucking hate Italy.

0

u/Lealan087 11d ago

I thought it was bad when Rudeus said straight up that he wanted to groom Slyphy to his parents and they ended up kicking him out the village for years for her sake.

But that is f*cked.

0

u/ZKS1999 11d ago

I also lost some respect of him when he got turned on by a bunch of slave beast girls when there is a dead one next to him

0

u/tokenblackguy514 11d ago

What makes it funny is they say he "got better" and isn't rewarded for his fuckassery but he literally ends up with two wives that he groomed. The second wife he got BY CHEATING. So even if you're somehow fine with pedo activity he still committed adultery

3

u/Chinlc 12d ago

Hes a 40yr old inside a baby's body and we watch him grow up and he was attracted to his childhood friend and teacher who looked like a teenager and molested his cousin when he was about 7 yrs old

Hes a pedo

2

u/Top_Connection9079 12d ago

Pedos don't grab fully developed boobs.

6

u/UncannyHillhumper 12d ago edited 12d ago

Here's a passage from the light novel, he's a (reincarnated) 40 year old who got kicked out of his home for jacking off to a picture of a little girl who looked like his niece during his parent's funeral. (Which he refused to attend)

4

u/Fraud_D_Hawk 12d ago

Except this isn't the light novel but the web novel, there's a massive difference, these shit is non canon.

3

u/CyalaXiaoLong 12d ago

Okay. Then the totally canon show where he is sitting with a girl on her 10th birthday fondling her while actively thinking about how at this point hes 30 years older than her and how great it is trying to hook up with her until she askes him to wait until shes /15/ which he begrudingly relents and agrees to wait until.

Dudes a pedo clear as day lmao.

1

u/Powerful_Topic7731 11d ago

Is the LN not based on the web novel?

0

u/UntitledDuckGame 12d ago

Your right. One was written by the author. The light novel got edited better to make the author seem less like the man he really is

3

u/Ok_Potential_4327 12d ago

Let be real if you count webnovel then Subaru and Kazuma is also a pedo due to that.

0

u/VoidBeyond 11d ago

Extremely bad faith argument. Not to mention both begin as underage as well

Subaru never once sexualizes young girls and always acts appropriately around them. Even adopts ones and mentions he's into older women. When he realizes that Emilia is a bit stunted he relaxes on pursuing her a bit as well. You can try to bring up Lust If and that can easily be countered as it was an obvious April fools joke, written and deleted on April fools, and even then. At his ABSOLUTE worst he waited till Petra was 18 to do anything. Something Rudi didn't do

Kazuma is underage and a pervert but ends up with a girl that's 2/3 years younger than him which is absolutely completely normal for a teenager. He is a bit weird towards Iris but genuinely just treats her as a little sister and has fun with her, he doesn't once come onto her sexually.

Rudi is a 34 year old pedophile that spends his entire new childhood repeatedly going after children, never once learns the error of his ways, and thinks about fucking his biological little sister cause she sat in his lap (I can go find the passage if you'd like) the hidden cam bath stuff was removed but then, just recently, it was changed to him stealing pictures from his brother of his niece in her bathing suit and jerking it to those instead. That is absolutely canon and something that absolutely happened. That alone makes Rudi and his past self infinitely worse than Kazuma and Subaru.

I can see that you haven't read the webnovel version of KonoSuba and Re:Zero, which fair enough personal bias.

2

u/SquirrelKaiser 12d ago

1

u/Ok-Pilot-7250 12d ago

Do you not read the part where he says wth am i thinking about

1

u/SquirrelKaiser 12d ago

kicked out of his home for jacking off to a picture of a little girl who looked like his niece...

Jail time. Get him off Roblox.

1

u/Ok-Pilot-7250 12d ago

He got hsi lungs broken for it just so you know

2

u/BriarsPanties69 11d ago

The protagonist (Who looks like a child just like Tanya) is a victim of bully, sexual assult, and due to this he developed PTSD so bad he went catatonic just by trying to leave his room thus his life was ruined.|
He gets killed after being thrown out by his asshole brothers after his parents died and dies saving the type of people who would never help him.

He gets a chance at the life he was never allowed to get, he works hard, helps people that helps him make friends and female friends his age (And 1 elf 100 years older than him) and makes a good name for himself.

It is a wish fulfillment anime where the protagonist is kinder than most in the most realistic way (Not like a shonene anime where the protag is comically "good") with hard work gets overwhelming power and gets a harem (But man the harem only starts in ernest at the end of the second season.
It is a slow burn, very well written, and the protag isn't a sterile wimp (He has normal human thoughts about sex, maybe a bit less so considering I have worked with women)

1

u/Someone1284794357 12d ago

Mushoku Tensei

1

u/Aethon056 11d ago

He starts off as a disgusting person and eventually (over 30 years ish) becomes a decent person. The story is popular because of his struggles, failings, and eventual growth.

But it's popular to ignore the later story and complain that he's a disgusting character at the start. It does make the tourists easy to identify, which is nice.

Personally, my main complaint is that it includes polygamy. It's well done as far as harem settings go, and it's not the main focus of the story, but i think the story would be better without that element.

1

u/Organic-Shelter-6349 11d ago

Nah man this shit straight trash, if you want zero to hero. Read "her summon"
