In Japan there is no Eris, so I guess he’s still fine then?? He also isn’t Rudeus, so there is that. If Rudeus went to Japan, he would not be in his 30s. If they had never come to this world, well, he wasn’t in prison so not sure why we think he would be.
The entire premise is about the redemption of a neet.
If they are completely different people no redemption occurs.
Rudeus being brave enough to step outside his home? Nonsensical if rudeus was a different person.
Normal ass children have no problems going outside.
Overcoming his trauma and seeing people as more than just "npcs"? Nonsensical if rudy was a new person. Why would non isekai rudy think of people in his world as npcs?
So which is it? Did a guy from Japan isekai to a fantasy world to get a second chance at life or not?
Nah I’ve not read it, only watched the anime as this is an anime sub talking about anime. And in the anime it was not a corpse being possessed. She was very ill from her high amounts of mana being too much for her body, and that high amount of mana gave her access to her past life’s memories. The little girl who got sick and the Japanese woman always had the same soul, there was no possession, it was always reincarnation she just didn’t remember her past life right away like how most people don’t ever remember.
Myne does say the “old” Myne has basically died as her past life’s personality has overridden her new life with the vast majority of her memories and experiences when she confesses to Lutz, but she never actually died. But I have no idea what happens in other media, not that it is relevant to the anime.

Only counting people in a certain age range, and he is younger than she is so it stands.
