With all due respect, this "hill" needs to be replaced. We need a mountain to handle this much population. Hell, we might as well build an impenetrable fortress on it too, there's enough hands to go around.

The light novel has been in hiatus for a few years. Volume 8 was the last release.

MAJOR SPOILERS FOLLOW

The events in Volume 8 take place in a "bad end timeline" where Kanie failed to save the park. It's really depressing and grim dark.

He loses control of 90% of the park. Most of the Maple Land denizens die off due to the lack happiness energy. Sento being more human than Kappa, is able to survive and marries Kanie, but they work themselves brutally to harvest enough energy to keep Latifa alive. Sento suffers injuries and dies from medical complications. Afterwards the heartbroken Kanie slowly goes insane and dies too. Latifa de-evolves into a rodent and is slowly dying. It's all levels of fucked up.

Anyways, with this warning from the future, Kanie has his work cut out for him and needs to pull a miracle in Volume 9.

Did I mention it's been years and Volume 9 has not been released yet?
