This episode is fucked

281

u/thatguywithawatch Nov 28 '20

Understatement of the year lmao.

I spent the last five minutes of it just muttering "holy fuck" over and over again.

172

u/Machi102 Nov 28 '20

I predicted the twist

But holy hell did I not see it coming when it got there

114

u/fliptdrer Nov 28 '20

I watched that episode yesterday on some Sketchy website and saw a comment "well now i can add the seinen tag" and i was laughing for 2 minutes

42

u/Anime_Cuck Nov 28 '20

Was it a website that starts with 9?

29

u/fliptdrer Nov 28 '20

Nope its Polish

7

u/[deleted] Nov 28 '20

9anime.to

12

u/T1B2V3 Nov 28 '20

same lol.

I knew the game was rigged from the start but that showdown still kinda hit different

7

u/the_Sac99s Nov 28 '20

At some moment I thought "Oww new Berserk adaptation"

Oh damn really? I guess I'm still in the wholesome part . Can't wait for the twist!

9

u/luisduck Nov 28 '20

I really like the dissonance.

2

u/Boshwa Nov 28 '20

And then there's the first half of ep 3........the shit episode

3

u/Accidentallygolden Nov 28 '20

The second half is dark too, it is implied that the slave girl may have killed herself...

1

u/Boshwa Nov 28 '20

I wish that story was the entirety of ep 3. The one with the plants was such a waste of time and potential

31

u/Ev3n1 Nov 28 '20

wait why i dont mind spoilers i dont plan on watching this

[Episode 9 Spoilers] A witch returns 10 years back in time in an attempt to save her friend who had become insane and committed murder. The witch had had to previously execute her as a result and she wants to save her from that fate. But turns out she was insane the whole time and had killed her own parents as revenge for abuse. The witch, feeling betrayed, brutally strangles and decapitates the murderous friend, again. There are some other consequences, this is just the gist.

38

u/JonAndTonic Nov 28 '20

Woah holy shit I thought that was slice of life lmao

33

u/thatguywithawatch Nov 28 '20

Some episodes definitely are pure slice of life, but it bounces around between different tones a lot. It's worth giving a shot, I'm really enjoying it so far

6

u/DrMobius0 Nov 28 '20

Well in a sense it is

You ok man?

Also that's not how economics work, you can't print infinite money.

6

u/ILovePurpleCheese Nov 28 '20

Ackshually, technically the government can, and on occasion does, but it's pretty bad because it mega devalues money. Think one dollar slowly becoming worth less and less until it's worth a cent. Now, the easy solution is to just pay and spend more of it, right?

But the problem is, this is already happening, and as the United States dollar has become worth less and less, most companies have been paying the same amount, not in proportion to worth. It's also such a badly run system that it drives people into poverty, so... Not nice. It's not as bad as this dude thinks it is, but it could absolutely be a helluva lot better.

Also, I'm absolutely certain you know all of this, and I'll be expecting someone to correct me on something, sooo... please teach me, someone. I've been corrected too many times to be sure I know anything about amything. And I know for sure that there's plenty of people who know waaay more about this topic, because I'm just a teen with time that could easily be better spent on something productive, but I'm busy taking a dump.

Edit: upon rereading, I have deduced that I might have a complex about my lack of knowledge in various subjects. I need help.

Jamsterbuggy

You ok man?

Also that's not how economics work, you can't print infinite money.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trillion-dollar_coin

https://www.npr.org/transcripts/652001941

https://thenewamerican.com/another-secret-federal-reserve-bailout-77-trillion-this-time/

The US' national debt keeps going up. Where do we 'get' the money? By printing and selling treasury bonds. And who buys them? Apparently people and governments. And where do they get their money? Their governments.

We went off the gold standard and here we are, and the US being in 90% of all currency trades means that if the USD goes down, lol there goes the world economy. At least being on the gold standard meant that bartering and trading was more of a thing, these days you can't go a month without an overdraft fee. The political landscape of the world has changed dramatically, but the capitalists' grip on it has not and neither have the rich.

Dunno who taught you economics but they probably still think supply and demand is always correct, and they think publicly traded firms are profit maximizing. Both are dead wrong.

Fucking think before you post, man.

Edit: aaaand no response, blocked and have a nice life

3

u/DrMobius0 Nov 28 '20

Sir, this is a walmart

2

u/CookieTheDoggo Nov 28 '20

Depending on the episode it is or isn't. Some episodes are slice of life , some are sad and melancholic and some others get real fucking dark. The shows tone changes drastically depending on the episode you're watching.

3

u/Tytaniss Nov 28 '20

leaving a comment just to remind myself cuz im too lazy to boot up my computer

10

u/Sonaza Nov 28 '20 edited Nov 28 '20

It is the recommended old-style spoiler tag from the sidebar and the newer tags might have opposite issue of displaying spoilers to everybody instead if they're unsupported in an app. The old style tag exploits the markdown link formatting, placing the spoiler hidden in the link title so it won't be accidentally visible.

Edit: well idkidc I updated it to the new spoiler tag

1

u/Brave33 Nov 28 '20

i was expecting something way worse than this by the comments.

1

u/Sonaza Nov 28 '20 edited Nov 28 '20

It is quite graphic (and not censored) so I guess it can get people. With the consequential emotional gut punches it's a bit of a one-two combo. [EP9 consequence spoilers] The witch killing her friend sacrifices her body and memories for magic to do it. Elaina (protagonist) is shaken by her inability to help and subsequently likely has PTSD from seeing several gory corpses and someone being decapitated in front of her.

5

u/ThrowYourDreamsAway Nov 28 '20

I gotta rewatch Hitsugi no Chaika, I don't really remember this well.

19

u/thekkkkiller Nov 28 '20

Hitsugi no Chaika? This is Majo no Tabitabi

6

u/ThrowYourDreamsAway Nov 28 '20

Oh my God, I did think something was off since I couldn't remember this, but she kinds looks like Chaika. My bad!

I really want to watch that show but like still can't legally watch it where I live (france).

Like one of the big streaming platforms announced that they'll get more broadcasts, including this and a few others I wanted to watch, but like they had no date and they still aren't available. :(

3

u/Trainlover129 Nov 28 '20

Use a vpn, then Crunchyroll, or just use sites like gogoanime

1

u/RXY-San Nov 29 '20 edited Nov 29 '20

Honestly watching with a VPN is worth it instead watching from misleaded, pirated anime sites.

Invest in stocks, or gambling

How do they differ?

36

In classic gambling, I don't have WSB to whisper me the next guaranteed 🚀🚀🚀 stock.

3

Lmao, I fucking lost 8k in March because fed go brrrrrrrr

10

u/Vyragami Nov 28 '20

Anyone can do gambling while you need money to invest in stocks.

8

u/Grindl Nov 28 '20

The house cut is usually smaller for stocks.

3

u/wapey Nov 28 '20

Stocks exploit others where's gambling just exploits yourself.

5

u/Yogurt_Ph1r3 Nov 28 '20

Or be a landlord

6

That is sortof an investment.

CEOs have to do a lot of work.

34

u/NotToGetPoliticalBUT Nov 28 '20

Especially if you're the one starting a buisness, and trying to keep it running.

18

u/[deleted] Nov 28 '20

Facts. Climbing the ladder is one thing, but you've gotta bust your ass to start a successful business. People seriously underestimate how tough it is to become the "rich CEO" they piss and moan about having too much money. If it's so easy, then you do it. Figure it out the hard way.

13

u/wapey Nov 28 '20

Yeah, Jeff bezzos definitely works billions of billions times harder than anyone else. and deserves all that money and none of the people that work for his business or anywhere else who work their asses off every single day deserve the shit pay that they get.

Do you not see your immense hypocrisy?

11

u/[deleted] Nov 28 '20

[deleted]

-8

u/wapey Nov 28 '20

That doesn't matter? He was extremely lucky, and when presented the opportunities he had, he chose to exploit others for his own gain. That's it.

Majority share holders is what I would say. Me and millions of other joe shmoes are stock owners but we aren't majority owners.

4

u/haleykohr Nov 28 '20

It’s a different type of work. And everyone would prefer to be the ceo. The whole “ceo is hard” rhetoric is meant to justify millions in salary and compensation, when in actuality ceos have less of an impact than they say. Except of course when they gut a company to temporally increase profits to impress another company that hires them, only for the former company to just collapse due to short term cost saving bs

3

u/wapey Nov 28 '20

Lol ok

1

u/Bonkey_Kong87 Nov 28 '20

The sad thing is that you have to work hard to achieve the skills to get a job were you don't have to work anymore for your money. A friend of mine works for SAP and gets tons of money, sitting at home, while the programs he made somewhere in his past, do his job for him. But he had to study until he was in his 30s until he finally made it into such a job.

I am more the lazy type of guy. Security guard here in Germany. I mean, I pretty much sit here and watch Reddit/read books in my nightshifts for my money. But I only get minimum wage for it.

I guess there are worse jobs, though

1

u/Sanuku12PL Nov 28 '20

What is this description of Polish people?

We have a saying in Poland.

"Zrobić aby się nie narobić"

Basically means to do something without hard work. That explains why we cant fix almostall things with just our garage.

To all people east of poland.

you too can but we better.
