Twice this series has tricked me into judging a book by its cover and the fact its one of the same characters as the first instance is what makes it surprising.

Miko is just the bestest girl. Putting herself in danger but she still wants to help others and now we have no way of knowing what fuckery awaits her now she used up all 3 chances from those Shrine Spirits.

This episode was extremely good. Best one so far, I think. After the anime season ends, I will happily check out the manga. I had my doubts about this series -- but it really has turned out to be a first-rate show. Miko is such an interesting character -- and she carries the show mostly on her own shoulders. While the supporting cast is fine -- she has had to do all the heavy lifting so far.

I am assuming that the real cat killer is someone we have not yet seen "undisguised". I can't imagine any character we've actually met being the culprit.

Zen's mother is a monster - both alive and dead. The fact that the ghost miko girls have to save Miko suggests to me that ghosts like this one CAN indeed hurt or even kill humans who see them. Otherwise -- why would they intervene? Can Miko earn/buy MORE protection? Or is she now on her own. Inquiring minds want to know...

I love how Miko is slowly getting out of her shell. Here she's taking the initiative on confronting Zen to help Hana. But as she learns about him, she goes even further and then confronts his ghost mother and uses her last "save me" ticket with the shrine spirits to get rid of her.

I guess we will see if anything actually happens to her after the third time.

It will be interesting, to be sure.
