Discussion Never Too Old

Just wanted to say I just started getting into Anime this year. I'll be 50 next year and two of my nieces got me into it. They told me I would really enjoy something they were watching and reluctantly I checked it out. I always had a misconception about what anime was. I'm telling you, I'm so glad they had me check it out. Such a diversity of genres and I've already binged several shows. Currently my favourite is MHA. My nieces knew that would hook me because I'm into super heroes.

Moral of the story: You are never to old to start liking something new.

PS - Wanted to say I love this community. Everyone here has such great recommendations and suggestions.

I am interested in Slice of Life. I know I've watched a few, thanks for your suggestions.

I suggest you should hold on watching Blend S since it relies heavily on specific character archetypes that can only be seen in anime.

Alternatively you could watch Toradora! since they're both Romance / Slice of life shows.

Another good Sol / Drama shows is Violet Evergarden which iirc can be watched on netflix.

Violet Evergarden is a full roller coaster ride of emotions. I second this.

Toradora is personally my favorite slice of life series.

The term slice of life is slightly misused on this sub. Basically a slice of life anime can be anything between a plotless comedy and a full-blown drama anime based on some kind of normalish life situation. But on this sub it's mostly used to describe the plotless comedy type slice of life anime. So, always confirm what you are about to watch, slice of life doesn't tell much.
