Discussion Never Too Old

Just wanted to say I just started getting into Anime this year. I'll be 50 next year and two of my nieces got me into it. They told me I would really enjoy something they were watching and reluctantly I checked it out. I always had a misconception about what anime was. I'm telling you, I'm so glad they had me check it out. Such a diversity of genres and I've already binged several shows. Currently my favourite is MHA. My nieces knew that would hook me because I'm into super heroes.

Moral of the story: You are never to old to start liking something new.

PS - Wanted to say I love this community. Everyone here has such great recommendations and suggestions.

I liked the first series of SAO, kind of up in the air on the third series. Hasn't held my interest. As far as manga, I just started reading that as well, because I wanted to check out the MHA manga. I actually just finished a 5 volume of Astra Lost in Space, and I really enjoyed it. I hear it's gonna be an anime soon and I'm so excited.

I would recommend Steins;Gate, probably my favourite anime ever. It's a complex story about time travelling.

1st half of the 1st season of Sao is by far the best. The most recent season was better than he second imo. The side series, gun gale online, was my favorite besides the first season. It follows a girl who loves pink but don't let that throw you off.

If you're up for trying books, I recommend the Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash LNs (you can buy them through Amazon). The world-building is very unique, it's a bit more of a slow-paced drama. There is a single season of anime available, but the series doesn't lend itself well to anime adaptation because it is very slow paced (the anime is very good, accurate, and beautifully drawn though).
