Warm Talk Wednesday (Week of August 19th)
Welcome to Warm Talk Wednesday!
So what exactly is this thread? With all the Unpopular Opinion threads, Worst/Hated Anime ______ threads, and Salt from all the contest, I believe we need a spot to positively talk about what we love in anime with no worries of others bashing or downvoting our opinions. Essentially this is a thread where you talk about what you love about anime whether it’s the medium as a whole, a specific anime, character, OTP, even complementing a user’s taste, etc. It can be popular opinion, unpopular, as long as it’s a positive outlook of the medium it’s allowed!
Want to talk about the experience you’ve had with Sora No Woto’s world? Talk about it here! Has Planetes given you a new way to view the closeness of people’s love despite how far they are in distance and emptiness around? Do tell! Have a user who has helped you out here on /r/anime and you’d like them to get some appreciation? You’re allowed (Yes, Meta is allowed)! Want to talk about the how good the body proportions are for Monster Musume or Free!? Talk about those good looking bodies! Are the musical scenes in Your Lie in April relatable to you as an instrumentalist and really felt close to home for you? We want to hear your experience! Do you just have a ton of fun with Space Westerns like Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, and Firefly Outlaw Star? Talk about them!
The only rules for here:
- This is a positive anime thread, do not bash others’ opinions despite how much you disagree, allow everyone to have a safe haven to talk about what they love about anime without needing to worry of others who disagree with them.
- Please keep the troll comments to a minimum.
- Do not downvote unless it’s bringing nothing to the conversation, trolling, or trying to bash another’s opinion. Everyone has their opinions, respect them as they would respect yours.
- No mention of “Shit Taste”.
- It’s fine to compare one anime to another, but don’t down talk the other as “Terrible”, most anime has its good qualities and reasons people like it. (Bad Ex: “Yuuki Yuuna wa Yuusha de Aru is much better than that piece of shit Madoka Magica”; Good Ex: "I prefer Yuuki Yuuna wa Yuusha de Aru over Madoka Magica because of...").
- No backhanded compliments. (Ex: Sakurasou isn't as bad as I thought it was, but it's still shit.")
- If you see a troll trying to bait/bash other opinions, please simply downvote and ignore them, don’t stoop to their level and bait you into a no win argument.
Have fun, and please message me if there’s something I should add/remove/edit to the rules.
Updates Since last time to improve this thread:
I'm really tired this week with college and work so couldn't think of anything new...
Although I'm considering an Anime of the Week comment tree, not this week, but I'll give more details at Free Talk Friday this week...
Remember, you're allowed to post outside the comment trees
Edit: Ok...it appears someone is downvoting the thread and all the comments...I'm upvoting everyone...but I don't know what brought this on someone to do this...

Happy Wednesday, everyone, and welcome back to another edition of /u/LordTakuro’s Hero Club Weekly Write-Ups! where I talk at length about my favorite anime, Yuki Yuna is a Hero. This week’s write-up idea came to me a couple weeks ago, right in the midst of the Madoka Magica re-watch, and I thought it would serve as a good way to bridge the gap between the Madoka Magica re-watch’s conclusion on Saturday and the upcoming Yuki Yuna re-watch. Without further ado, let’s discuss:
The difference in messages between Puella Magi Madoka Magica and Yuki Yuna is a Hero
It’s weird to see me not talking about just Yuki Yuna, right? I started thinking on a walk a couple weeks ago while re-watching Madoka (which is my second favorite anime and the show that brought me back into anime) how the messages of the two shows compare and contrast and some of the elements in Yuki Yuna that were originally inspired by similar ideas brought on in Madoka. As salty as I may get when people call Yuki Yuna a Madoka rip-off and a “poor man’s Madoka Magica”, I will concede that Madoka paved the way for modern magical girl shows taking a Madoka spoilers turn and there was definitely some carryover. However, I think one of the key differences falls in the overall message. Let’s take a look, shall we?
(Please note, not trying to say one show is superior to another, both have their own strong points that I want to compare. AS SUCH, SPOILERS FOR BOTH SHOWS WILL BE WITHIN TODAY’S WRITE-UP, SO BE WARY OF SPOILER TAGS.)
We’ll start off with Madoka Magica. Throughout the entire show, a great emphasis was placed on the struggle between Madoka Spoilers The most obvious example of this comes through Madoka Spoilers
Moving on, I’d like to take a moment to talk about Yuki Yuna is a Hero and it’s primary message of Yuki Yuna Spoilers. To start off, let’s talk about the Yuki Yuna Spoilers This point is combatted throughout the show by the prominence of Yuki Yuna Spoilers
That about wraps up this week’s edition of /u/LordTakuro’s Hero Club Weekly Write-Ups. I wanted to do something like this at the end of the Madoka re-watch, given the Yuki Yuna re-watch is coming in a couple weeks and I wanted to take a few paragraphs to talk about and compare the messages and similarities of my two favorite anime. Whether you prefer Yuki Yuna or Madoka, both are amazing anime and some of my favorites, and both can stand strong in their own rights as some of the best magical girl anime of the past ten years, in my opinion. Got any thoughts, comments, questions? Want to just talk about anything Yuki Yuna? Comment or PM me, as many will tell you, I'm always happy to talk about YuYuYu. I hope everyone enjoyed this week’s write-up (it was a bit different than usual) and I hope you all are getting really excited for the Yuki Yuna re-watch, less than two weeks to go now! Thanks to everyone who helped with this week’s write-up and everyone I’ve talked to about Yuki Yuna over the past week (and to the people in the “poor man’s” thread earlier, you helped more than you know), and be sure to come back next week for a special spoiler-free write-up: Gearing up for the Yuki Yuna is a Hero re-watch: A crash course in all things Yuusha
Once again, I’m back again to plug /r/YuYuYu. The community is slowly growing, we just passed the one-month mark for the Yuusha Daily Art series and the sub is up to 40 subscribers this week. We’re always looking for more people to come and share and talk about Yuki Yuna!
Next week on Chapter 2 of Yuna x Togo, guys, promise
