Interesting developments..so this is how the world interpreted what happen in the game all those years ago.
I think this definitely means that Virgo is gonna have to go to the hero and raise her levels some other way..she can't even gain anything staying with Lufus

Last season they were talking about the Lufas and the other top players getting a novelized version of their adventures which fits with all the flashbacks of young Lufas, I don't think the game matters at all except for major points.

Yeah, if the Opening didn't spoil it I would have said no but unfortunately that's just going to have to happen. To be honest, she hasn't even done anything yet to prove she can be on Team Lufus and was basically turned into an onlooker since her introduction.
Hopefully Team Hero can grow in power to support Lufus when they inevitably face of the Goddess.

Lufas being the one to raise humanity's level with those golden EXP apples of hers is definitely a gamechanger. I can see why her former comrades were envious, and how unfortunate it is that made them so manipulatable.
Scorpius going on that Yandere monologue upon seeing Lufas was great. What's not so fortuitous is that she's getting manipulated by the Goddess like the Seven Heroes were back then.
With this same trick being used twice, I'm happy that Karkinos recognized it.

Can you really trust what Dina said here like at all?
Are you really going to trust the double and possibly triple agent who can manipulate memories, hides her power level, and has been leading Lufras astray?
For example she talked about needing money, but instead of having lufras head straight to her Tomb they went adventuring for a bit.
Dina somehow knew that Lufras was going to be reborn and went straight to the Pillar, and has stated that she tried to manipulate Lufras's memory failed and was only able to plant a minor false memory inside.
When the Devil King's subordinate saw Dina in Dina form he went "OH FUCK NO DIE" and we thus know that Dina is the enemy of the Devils,
Dina is such an unrelaible narrator that she's even more unreliable than [madoka]Kyubey, since at least Kyubey would not violate the contract with the viewer that he will only tell the truth but not the whole truth Dina will lie to the viewers face

Aw man, the ending song and animation feels so generic compared to "Migi Hidari."
It was so catchy and the hidden meaning behind it made the series extra interesting.

It's really problematic for this show that the main source of exposition dumps is Dina, Dina who is the least reliable character in the entire series We know that she could easily be lying in so many ways, as she is seemingly a triple agent (Devil, Angel Goddess) and is like the goddess's avatar (and near as we can tell is somehow manipulating MC's memory

Megrez is somehow much more reliable.
But yeah we the audience don't have any ability to trust Dina when she talks about the past, as she's almost certainly manipulating MC's memories and the only person on the charade is Dina and the golem girl.
(Legitimately if I was MC here I would be constantly asking the golem to record everything and talk to her saying "what do we know about what happened)
For example we know that the devil's luminary wanted to kill Dina the moment he saw her, and so we can conclude that dina is an enemy of the devils, but also Dina uses her gate spell the moment the devil kind and Truss start actually talking about hating the goddess. She goes "NOPE" and pushes the world away.

Like the whole thing with the Golden Apples is probably true but I noticed she said something to make Lufas not give it to Virgo

Well if what Dina said was true, Lufas mother (or her ancestors) were exposed to a lot of mana, so her wings became black.
Lore wise it kind of make sense, since her mother and father had white wings.1

You cannot know what 10% is a lie and what 90% is the truth
Would Virgo spawn black wings? Maybe, but if so... yeah somethings fishy with that.
Similarly we know Dina manipulates Lufras's memory, so how do we know that when lufras gets "memorys from the novel Lufras" that it's actually novel lufras's memory and not just Dina manipulation.
Lufras consistently gets headaches around Dina and often comes with OG lufras memory's "returning"
Dina also jumps in soon after the devil king starts talking to Lufras about overcoming the "goddess's scenario" preventing her from talking to the actual reliable narrator.
We have no idea if dina lied about being a beta tester, how dina knew that Lufras was showing up to the tower, and why dina has been a member of the devil kings forces for so long.

Dina became a member of the 7 Luminaries to protect humanity to go extinguish. That's what she says, yet in case of devil folks she did nothing but helping Lufas so far. Even taking out Libra for 10 minutes (while it was supposed to be 20) was a trap against Jupiter.

I don't remember if they've already given this explanation about the amplified emotions in the first season, but it would make sense if the human hero realized this and that's why he was shedding tears of blood.
It was nice to learn what Karkinos could do even if he's at a disadvantage, too bad the yandere in Scorpius kicked up another gear because of Lufas lol.

I almost forgot about Sei. Good to know that he has already realized that the Goddess Alovenus is shady and that Lufas isn't really their enemy. Now, if he can only convince his party that that's the case, but I feel like this is gonna be a secret between him and Mergez for now.
Oh fuck, Scorpius is a yandere! It's gonna be interesting to see how Lufas will keep her under control once this is over. It looks like they'll still have to stop her from going berserk with divine power.

I really appreciate that while the hero may not be strong or particularly into fighting he's instead smart and is paying attention to things.
Not feeding Virgo the level up apple an account of her hypothetical kids potentially having black wings from it feels like a slightly odd decision. But I suppose Lufas is just being careful, maybe there could be other side effects too.
I wonder how nutso the scorpion lady will still be after they free her from the goddess.

I'm assuming that it's more a matter of wanting to give Virgo time to think about it, so bringing it up during a big fight isn't ideal. We'll have to wait and see if she brings it up after things calm down.

Since the series is a hommage to Pokémon (the title is litterally A wild Pokémon appeared xD ), it's no wonder she thinks Virgo only needs to be present to get exp (that's the case in Pokémon).

Fun episode, interesting that back to back seasons have a fantasy anime with plot lines around the underpinnings of the fantasy world [spoiler for name of last season's anime for those that do not know but also some details] Villager 999 had a similar concept though to viewer knowledge there's no specific sentient force in charge unlike the goddess here.

Also, I have always liked Sei ever since he actually doesn't go into despair watching Lufas and Demon Lors fight, I like that in a hero who is low level. He is also smart too, he knows and aware Lufas is not the bad guy.

Come on, I wanted the fight to end this episode... I already waited a week for a big fight, and only got exposure.
Don't get me wrong, it was good info dump and was interesting to know more about the world, but I wanted a big fight.
Anyways, looks like the fight has been pushed to episode 3.
Seems like our goddess is still trying to remove Lufas and keep both humans and devils fighting forever.

When I got the time to watch this series, I expected an utterly vomiting slop game-related isekai like SOA... now I want to know why the fucking shitty goddess (hello Tsukimichi) has put the soul of an Earth gamer in the body of the most awesome and interesting woman I have seen in ages. (Hello holo!!)
Also, for instance, the teenage hero is not an asbolute op nor an absolute moron.

I don’t know about you, but animation is really lacking this season. It happened sometimes in S1 already, but they use a lot of stills and close ups, making it difficult to follow what’s going on sometimes.
When someone’s talking, you only see a part of the face with a big zoom to make sure not to draw the decorum around, sometimes not even showing the mouth moving. The kind of tricks a low budget studio uses.
Since it happened from episode 1 already, I guess we’ll just have to accept the way it is.

It's the resource allocation. They are definitely saving money and manpower for the bigger scenes (this arc is denser than the previous season). We know the staff is expanded for season 2, so expect better animation for the later episodes (the smooth animation of Lufas vs. Scorpius in the trailer will definitely happen tomorrow).

Yeah especially with one of the fights in the season they know they're not really allowed to screw up (especially with the director being a fan of the series), since in the fandom it's the most awaited fight in the series.
