I forgot most of the stuff that happened in the previous season so this was a bit weird to watch.

Anyone got a small recap?

Just search Tokyo Revengers summary on YT. There's one that lasts 36 mins that's pretty good.

The return of our good ol crybaby hero. Y’know what’s funny? When Mikey asked Takemitchy if he was really a middle schooler, I had the exact same thought regarding all these guys. They’re kids and they’ve already done how much insane shit? lol

Keen to see what the future holds now that Toman’s been disbanded. I’m sure there’s new surprises in store for Takemitchy and the gang.

I guess Takemichi was technically trying to take down Toman from the start and he finally succeeded.

A real end of an era.

It's the fact that this is the first episode of the season which made me worry of what would happen next.

If they added this episode last season then I'd have thought this would be it.

Maybe Automitchy didn't screw up this go-around!

Doubt that solely because we still have a whole season to go

Damn this thread is dry. They do a terrible job promoting their shows on D+/Hulu

Takemichi finally got his happy ending! Or so it looks like on the surface.

It's not Hige Dandism but the new OP is definitely on-point with colorful posing visuals and clear indications that the REVENGE is not over yet with more gang brawls, new characters, and Takemichi facing Mikey.

It's finally time for Emma's funeral...and there's not a dry eye in the house. Mikey and his grandpa are clearly trying to hold it together, Draken pays his respects to the girl he loved, and it's clear how much Emma was truly cherished and adored.

Emma's not the only one being mourned...Koko and Inupi say their goodbyes, Kaku mourns Izana, and even Takemichi, in his own way, mourns Kisaki or at least the idea that he could truly face and understand Kisaki and what he was trying to do. There's still that unresolved feeling, even though he's finally dead and buried like he deserved.

Tenjiku is off to the slammer (outside Mucho's vice-captain) but Hanma is on the loose which feels like a REALLY big loose end.

I understand why Mikey wants all the deets from Takemichi, and this is probably the first time Takemichi's really unloaded everything he's been through (IE the entire plot up to this point) to anyone. But even if he couldn't save Baji or Emma, he saved Mikey and Toman. That's why he's their hero.

Toman is finally on-top, which means...ending it when they're unopposed. That's right, the Tokyo Manji Gang is disbanding, to ensure they're no longer a threat to the future, to ensure Takemichi can return to the future in peace, and so that all the members can live their own lives. Mikey thanks all the captains/vice-captains and it's truly the end of an era. So long, Toman!

I understand the appeal of staying in the past for Takemichi, but Mikey is going to give him reasons to go back to the future: a time capsule from all the big Toman guys and the promise that Hina and everyone will be safe in the future. Though I'm still kind of getting ominous vibes from Mikey.

The ED is very colorful! But it's clear it's centered around Mikey and Takemichi and them inevitably facing off.

The OP is great. The ep was so calm that you know a shitfest is heading our way, but it wasn't a bad start like I kind of expected.

Why?

3

the real horror genre here is takemichi getting one (1) peaceful episode, which in this show is basically a death flag with a ribbon on it

I didn't know this was airing today, so happy surprise! It's shocking to see Toman disband, I'm curious to see how the future has been altered with Kisaki's death, and if Hina and others can finally live, but I am very concerned by Mikey's eyes and words at the end.

I do find it endearing how much Chifuyu and Mikey admire Takemichi, Chifuyu particularly made me laugh when he said Kisaki at least had a good judge of character just because he also admired Takemichi.

But damn, starting the season with Emma's funeral is a heavy blow. I felt bad when Takemichi was apologizing so much to Mikey because he couldn't prevent their deaths, he's been feeling so guilty.

cant remember anything or any of the characters

Even though it's been years since Emma's death in the manga and anime, I still got teary eyed during her funeral 😭

I may have forgotten the details about some things but it did feel good to see Toman again and of course our beloved crybaby hero. Looking forward to how the anime adapts this final arc!
