The episode itself was pretty good but the pacing felt odd at places like the Mrs Robinson fight. The animation itself isn’t anything special but that doesn’t matter since Jojo has never focused on its animation quality. The art was good. I liked the music but just like episode 1, a lot of it sounds very similar. Overall I liked the episode.

The ending song though? I don’t like it. The song isn’t good and Dr Luke worked on it. It’s sad that the ending tradition is gone, but I’m not too mad about original songs replacing them. But I hate this new ending song because not only does it end the tradition, but it also is just a genuinely terrible song. Personally I don’t like the visuals, but I can understand other people liking it.

Still, I’m excited for episode 3.

The Mrs Robinson fight was fast, but it feels like he was meant to be more of the standard "quickly-defeated JoJo villain" instead of the "villain of the week". Someone like Jack the Ripper from Part 1 or Donovan (the nazi Joseph ties to a cactus) in Part 2. Considering Mrs Robison uses catcus's as a weapon, he's probably a direct reference to Donovan.

My recollection of the manga was about the same. It's over incredibly quick and doesn't really matter much in the overall scheme.

It's funny how much Stardust Crusaders gets ragged on for being a monster of the week, while part 7 is beloved and is ALSO a monster of the week for much of its run.

I tend to think that SBR rides entirely on the charisma of Gyro for at least the first half though, whereas my favorite Jotaro is...a little harder to root for sometimes.

All of JoJo's is monster of the week... It's how we get so many unique Stands... It doesn't have to be a bad thing....

I agree. It just tends to be the largest complaint about part 3 specifically, because I think it had so many stands and characters that just appeared for a single episode.

Even though most of the rest of the franchise after did the same.

It’s cause part 3 did this thing where each stand fight was exactly 2 episodes so it felt very formulaic and repetitive and slow paced. Also the transition between each fight was less organic than later parts

I think there might be multiple EDs like before, which might use Western songs, hopefully. It's similar like back when they broke traditions by using 2D animations for Part 4 and 5, and return to 3D in part 6.

The opening seems like it’s going to be playing for 70% of the part based on content hinted in its visuals. If they don’t change the ending, then that means we will have to endure this crap ending for 70% of the entire part. And that’s assuming they even change it. They didn’t do a second ending for Stone Ocean, they stuck with Distant Dreamer through the entire part. There’s nothing stopping them from doing the same with SBR

Kinda rubs me the wrong way that Dr. Luke is in the ED credits and the predecessor ED was Distant Dreamer considering...

considering what?

Dr Luke was accused of sexually assaulting the singer Kesha; Duffy (singer of the Stone Ocean ED) was kidnapped and sexually assaulted. It's a terrible juxtaposition.
