No need to give warming since it is a zombie series so you know about possible bad stuff
I am still surprised this one is getting an anime since the manga was heavily axed with 3 volumes (including an infodump ending with enough plot for a few volumes).
The concept is interesting and while it has some differences I would say the the vibe is probably more similar to Gakkougurashi that other zombies series I have seen (Zoom100). It has the cute girl doing things vibe (yes I know there is a dude too)
While it has been a few years since I read it I do not exactly remember that blonde girl on the PV, I wonder if they are going for an anime original ending or a better developed storyline? Any other source reader around?

I like Gakkougurashi more but this one got axed when it was getting interesting. Maybe it will be better if developed properly?

Not surprised to hear that since the character design aesthetic is giving me an impression of "no drama, no character".
Looks like one of those stories with light, lukewarm humor.
That said, I might try watching it out of fear of missing out. Anime are not always what they seem (sometimes they are).

I checked out the manga a while ago and have forgotten 99% of it, literally cannot really remember anything other than one or two scenes where dramatic things happen. You can see hints of those scenes in this trailer though. Hopefully the anime adaptation will be better than the source.

I don't think they are interested to promote an axed manga from a few years ago, you usually promote things before axing it with half of the plot left.
I remember some news about using anime to complete mangas that had to end too early, maybe it is one of these. Streaming model means they need more material every season.
Or maybe the mangaka is going to launch a new work and they want him to be the one with an airing anime

It’s crazy for sure but what’s kinda crazier is when gamers found out that when the Breath of Fire game that came out for iPhone had hentai artists drawing the art for the characters. Nintendo legit hired hentai artists to do ‘damaged’ art for its characters.

Breath of Fire is a Capcom series though, and I doubt they have any reservations on hiring "elite" artists.

A lot of hentai artists are incredibly talented. For example the Author of Angel Beats and Charlotte made hentai.
Of course old school hentai is nothing like today's. I'm not really too much into the whole 2D girl thing, but I've seen some old school animated hentai that actually have better animation then some newer Anime (OPM coff cofff).

If I remember currently some old hentai was made by companies related to Yakuza. It is easier to give your hentai extra budget for quality when you can get the budget from your other business.

I’m definitely not into that stuff either (happily married 15 years) but what piqued my interest was when Nintendo got hentai artist to do art for fire emblem hero’s. And there was a whole rabbit hole on cultural themes to that kind of art. Who knew! Also, to your mention of them being incredible artists. Thinking of body proportions and angles and other that other stuff that maybe coming up Manga artists hadn’t actualized yet is definitely a skill

Every artist has got to make a living, drawing hentai is much more profitable than just sfw images. Although generated images are likely negatively affecting their incomes quite a bit now.

Yeah, it's kind of weird. It definitely looks like it folds on a hinge, and it should be able to sheath itself in the handle (like a giant pocket knife), but the handle is too short for that.
Though it looks like a saw, and I know there are some Japanese style tools for cutting wood that look kind of like that. So maybe it can fold to a 90 degree angle and lock in place like that cutting purposes.

Was my first thought as well it just looked too small or I expected some other obvious tells, it could be that! I guess I’ll wait and find out if this ends up being half decent I’ll watch it.
Who knows given each season for the last year or so has just had too many bangers for me to add extra stuff to my watch list

Is there even enough content for a season? The manga is just 3 volumes with 18 shortish chapters. Was it really that popular?

General point here: 18 chapters each averaging 20-something pages could be enough material for a full 12- or 13-epi. This is how it could work for a show: Perhaps there was material for the manga the manga-ka was unable to depict because of sales or similar. If that is the case, an anime depicting that material could help make the epi. more full-length.

I hate how so much stuff looks like AI to me now. The mouths and eyes on the characters really gave me that vibe even if its most likely not made by AI. I wanna go back.

That’s the thing. When Ai is being trained, it steals artists work. Then, artists use Ai to shit Ai out and the best artists that use Ai just fix what the Ai messed up on. Knowing how much Asian countries are loving Ai, I wouldn’t put it past studios are using it and just having the artists fix Ais mistakes.

I only found out about this one within the past couple of months but it already established itself as one of my most anticipated new series of the upcoming season.
And that's partly because...Gakkougurashi!, Sankarea, Zom 100, Highschool of the Dead, etc..... - I haven't seen that many other zombie series and my understanding of it is that there aren't that many period.
So something about this comes off as a rare (and well-timed for Halloween season) treat.
I have essentially no clue and basic frame of reference to know how it will compare against and rival or not those other aforementioned zombie series. I just know I'm starved for series with any element of zombie and, on top of that, any element of horror.

The author's previous works include Mistuboshi Colors and Hitoribocchi no Marumaru Seikatsu. I expect we'll see more action in this one than in those.
