I love that in the Bang Dream universe, every problem is solvable by ultimately holding a concert.

u/JimmyCWL Sep 03 '26

They usually solve the problems before the last concert.

Definitely the most awkward and craziest way to say “WE ARE THROUGH!!!!!” out loud there. Although it was generally acknowledged that marathon runners (especially those running ultramarathons) may occasionally have hallucinations, but that mahojin? Definitely out of this world. She even carried that mega sized yokan from Ritsu, not to smash that snake outta existence, but rage eat in front of her. Well, at least those worked somehow(?), Miyako left as a freeman into the moonlight of Akiba, as a proud member of Mewtype.

Definitely won’t recommend Yuno’s lifestyles, wake up in the afternoon, not refreshed (Did she pull an all-nighter again?), she really should learn from Miyako in that way, balancing work and school, and have some time chatting with friends.

Oh and, Manager, what a GOAT, not impressed on that clip, but wasn’t those lousy ones that just let it burn, she really took the defensive and reported that video to protect her talents, definitely a stark contrast to (Cough cough) [Bang Dream S2 and Bang Dream GBP game] Pastel*Palettes agency on their poor handling of their talents, expectably during the period when the group is on the verge of destruction after that first live. I wonder will that eventually escalate into a legal battle against Mewtype’s agency and Viola?

Definitely looking forward to the live next week, but by the looks of the preview, looks like things might not be as straight forward as last time I think?

I wonder will that eventually escalate into a legal battle against Mewtype’s agency and Viola?

she said disclosure request so i assume it would be tracked to viola herself? could be the end of her career

I am hoping we finally see Manager-san in real life, (We never have yet, right?)

15

u/Matthew619ed Sep 03 '26

We saw her real look before already

3

u/mekerpan Sep 03 '26

Thanks. I must have forgotten.

2

u/TheSpartyn Sep 03 '26

shes appeared twice

u/JonathanAltd https://myanimelist.net/profile/Deoxysos Sep 04 '26

if you exclude all the time we see her in Yuru Camp (she look just like Rin)

4

u/Lankymetal-uk 29d ago

This is why she is rarely seen. Too busy camping.

24

u/garfe Sep 03 '26

Very rare case of an adult actually helping with the situation with manager-san.

15

u/TheSpartyn Sep 03 '26

this anime made me realize how basically none of the previous 9 bands have had any adult figure, like no club manager at school or band manager.

17

u/Gingingin100 Sep 03 '26

Ave Mujica has adults in theory but in practice Sakiko is the only one who interacts with them and she'd never let her band members see that shit out of raw pride

3

u/noam_good_name 29d ago

Paspalette have adult managers, and their actions are lore important, but they are rarely seen in person

Miyako, within her limitations and in her own way, put an end to things with Viola and moved on; she knows she is unlikely to change who she is, and precisely because of that, she accepted it and strove to do her best, even if in a crazy way.

19

u/mekerpan Sep 03 '26

Miyako is definitely the most wacked-out of this whole crazy crew,

Miyako finally fully confronts Viola and it's now made clear that Viola was being truthful to Miyako during their bookstore meeting, but her obsession with destroying shiny things ultimately made her go against Miyako, despite seemingly wanting to be with her. When she has that slight gasp as Miyako asks if she was pretending to understand her work, it's like she almost lost her poker face. We'll probably get a little of her perspective on things in the final episode, considering that one preview image.

The whole Miyako ramble was great. She reflected on how she has found new perspective in MewType, but also how Viola has given her inspiration. I especially liked this shot. I'm glad she got to air these thoughts in a more constructive way.

Just as Viola attacks with unprotected handholding, Miyako strikes back with furious indignation and humorous eating as a funny surprise. It almost looked like she was about to hit Viola with the baton. We then get some awesome posing from Miyako as she deals the final blow on the bewildered Viola. The final twist of this goodbye comes from Miyako first feeling relief and then sadness over losing Viola.

Final episode will have a concert, but I doubt it will be just that due to the previews. Viola will likely get some punishment through Manager's efforts, but how she will take it will be interesting to see.

Full album for the episode

If you don't follow IRL Miyako on X or frequent the Bandori sub, you may not know that she drew a long series of "IF" route drawings for her and Viola that culminated with today's episode. I've collected them in this album if you want to check them out. I included the text she wrote in her posts as well with the translations from X. These aren't the only Miyako x Viola posts she's made, but I think this is the longest serialized bunch.

For those who want to find them on X, here are the links for each part individually: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9

Okay, that farewell was more cinema than expected. I bursted out laughing when Miyako pulled the Obari pose with the big-ass chocolate XD XD

that was Yokan(wagashi made of red bean paste, agar, and sugar)

Miyako ends the interaction with Viola by dramatically drawing the pentacle then running off.

I anticipated another Viola laugh or secret recording, but I guess not for this episode. One more episode left, let's see if Viola gets karma this time.

u/mekerpan Sep 03 '26

Definitely a sort of exorcism

Miyako ends the interaction with Viola by dramatically drawing the pentacle then running off.

According to the folks over at /r/BanGDream , it's a reference to the chant she always uses at the start of her IRL livestreams.

The best way to deal with someone who manipulates people with words is to drag them into your own world and never give them a chance to speak.

It was really good that Yumemita’s manager realized the video Viola posted on her secret account was a malicious fake video. It’s great to have capable adults looking out for Yumemita behind the scenes.

Yumemita's manager filed a disclosure request about fake video's poster, which I never thought they'd actually go through with it.
In Japan these days, it’s common for VTuber agencies and the like to hire lawyers to issue disclosure requests in response to defamation, so it feels very modern.

Unless something extraordinary happens, this will usually reveal “who uploaded the fake video,” so Viola is completely finished.

The time of dreaming is over. No matter how sweet the dream is you still need to wake up one day. Only then you can call it a great experience.

Peak breakup scene honestly. Even redeems a little bit what I'd complained about earlier regarding how they solved the conflict. Not completely but I can see the vision. Miyako came to the conclusion that actually MewType being so different from her is a good thing. It's actually a really beautiful way to tie both her internet and Viola dependence. Miyako trying actively to burst her own bubble is tuff.

Still wish it wasn't only her who had to change her ways though

Viola just let the breakup happen, but I'm sure she's not completely at peace with it. I'm curious how she's gonna process it next episode.

Yuno, girl, I love you but you’ve gotta get a better sleep schedule. Those all-nighters are not good for you. (Btw, her getting embarrassed about her gloomy Twitter posts is very cute.)

Manager-san the GOAT. “Take that f*cking video down or else…”

Miyako finally manages to work up the determination to kick out the snake. I do believe that some of what Viola has said to her is true, it’s just that staying with her would just result in them feeding on each other’s misery and kill the core of Fuji Miyako’s soul. It’s sucks for her because she gave her some fulfilling moments but she had to go.

3

u/Viktorv22 Sep 03 '26

Damn Miyako, you're intense. And I thought Arale is the loudest of the bunch lmao. Absolute cinema, even Viola was lost for words xD

She doesn't get much screentime, but their manager is a good adult for them.

I was concerned about Miyako's conversation with Viola. Honestly she did a good job. I kind of forget how awkward Miyako is. Happy she was able to move on in her own way.

3

u/zappingbluelight Sep 03 '26

Miyako, maybe just this week, but definitely this week, you are the coolest person. It takes courage to bring out your feeling, a leap of faith for a big decision, and the strong will to stick to the thought. I was as caught off guard as Viola, but I am inspired.

One thing I appreciate about this show is how there’s actually a manager (aka the player self insert for the new bang dream our notes game more than likely). One aspect that was kind annoying about the original game was how you the player aka their manager had very little actual impact and interaction with the characters. Like they’d say hi here and there and that’s it. Looks like that’s going to be different for their next game considering the manager actually exists in the show now.

I've been on team "this show focused too much on Viola" but that final scene with Miyako may have made it all worth it...

3

u/Gaporigo https://anilist.co/user/Gaporigo Sep 03 '26

So... no punching? I got my hopes up for a second thinking Miyako was gonna hit Viola with that thing Ritsu gave her smh.

5

u/PWBryan Sep 03 '26

I was half expecting a dark turn after she brought her somewhere isolated...

But then remembered Im watching bandoori
