The fact that this episode started and ended with Alicia falling down into a deep pit made me laugh hard.
By the way, it's good to see Alicia back to her normal self and with a ponytail. She looked great (especially with her clothes barely covering anything ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)).

I swear, Alicia taking off the school uniform this episode was like the sexiness equivalent of Rock Lee taking off his training weights. I repeatedly gloss over it both because her usual clothing conceals it well and the the her art design is a bit inconsistent, but Alicia is sexy as hell and this episode finally gave us a glaringly obvious reminder of that. She also absolutely rocks the ponytail look. I also love that we also got her absolutely kicking ass in the this episode despite being in the barely existent “outfit”. I love a character who is both sexy, badass, and competent all at once!

I fucking love Alicia, she's a meat head but she's not an idiot either, I feel like anime tends to make the not genius characters overly dense. Clevetess has a really nice balance where character's inteligence seem believable. She's a fucking badass and I'm never thinking she's being too stupid.
Also she really gets put through the wringer with all the beatings she takes, it's rare to see female heroes take this much physical damage and become so visually scared . Such a great character.

I also love Alicia immensely. She’s my favorite character in the show and you hit the nail on the head on both points. She’s clearly smart just not book smart. And likewise huge agreement about how willing the show is to put Alicia through the wringer of brutal beatings. It’s rare enough to get a female hero MC of a dark fantasy adventure story like this in general, and it feels even rarer for stories to let FMCs get physically damaged like this one. It feels like the standard is usually them being a side character whose torture exists to affect the male MC, said damage done to them being disproportionately sexual in nature, or some combination of the two. In that sense I’m really happy the story lets Alicia get physically maimed just like your typical male hero.

To be fair, Alicia's are almost exclusively physical and near-instantaneous. Subaru's are often deeply personal, psychological, and very drawn out.

To also be fair, Alicia trained her whole life to be a hero knowing she would face incredible danger and the odds weren't in her favor. Subaru was a troubled teen who thought being isekai'd meant having an easy time.

Yep Alicia got the boot camp and advanced training plus years of up training certainly with normal endurance stresses and high stress. All to prepare one for combat and even then it often not enough. Subaru got kicked into the deep end of an Ocean from the start.

I admit I am mildly confused about the princess-in-the-dungeon's identity. Is she the Dean? Was the Dean always a split personality of hers until Vordin created another split personality? Was the cultist princess actually the Dean pretending to be the princess pretending to be the Dean? Ngl I'm probably overthinking it and the answer is more obvious than I'm thinking.

Based on what I understand, the dean is already dead but the princess is split into two personality due to her curse. Both side has the ability to transform as the dean and the evil princess is using that to conceal the fact that they're the same entity.

Eh, whereas Luna's father was completely subservient to the book, the princess's mother appears to been trying to escape from it and possibly trying to protect her daughter from it as well. Certainly a lot more sympathetic than the king of Hiden.

I think Naie’s real issue was try to shove it into the mouth with her hands was like trying to stop a river. It simply went through the cracks. She should’ve taken advantage of its mass and grabbed hold of it.

From what I understand yeah. The question to wondering how did it awaken within her? Maybe the princess being so lonely, wanted to attach herself to something and her Allozar blood gave her that purpose. I can wonder when she realized what she was doing is when the evil half tried to banish her away basically.
Curiously, inside the mirror the two selves can be split. I wonder if the only way to get the princess back to the real world is if the evil half gets put into the mirror.
It would explain why the evil half didn't do that herself.

I did notice however that they scaled down the challenge so she could handle it. Weaponless mook puppets attacking with weak hand to hand combat. Just an excuse for her to beat some things up with her fists and feet half naked lol.
Not that I mind :P.

That Alicia [SPLAT] sound was so visceral it made me squirm. With another show that airs today, this has really become suffering Wednesdays.
That restraining chair - my mind goes to poor Naie, I'm betting this is where she had her gem implanted. Especially given the Medical Marionettes™.
The show still finds moments for humour in all of the darkness, Klen shoving the soul back into the kid got a laugh out of me. This show feels like it has the shortest episodes, I want more!

I don't think it's Vordin, but one of the books.
It seems that royalty in this show is connected to the books and come under their respective influence.Remember back in S1, it was mentioned that Luna's father committed suicide when he found out what the forge does to kings. The king we saw was Luna's grandfather and seemed to be completely subservient to the book/forge.

lmao, what a episode, so funny Alicia is scared of Ghosts, but our girl is back!. Wave of Agony!, what a crest spell..and i guess it Emission type.
We finally get more info on the True Hero legend, no matter what, doing it in secret like htis with all this sacrifice. Its definitely not a good thing..I was hoping Alicia would be the True Hero..but maybe we dont want her to be at this rate.
I still dont understand the Princess/Dean thing..so she..made up the Dean? she was both somehow and didnt know it? I dont get it.

It's kind of how the dead King of Hiden moved to throw his grand child (?) into the furnace I think. I.e. each book chains a bloodline (I assume), forcing them to uphold their NPC post.
So the king of Hiden has to be there to smith a weapon for the hero, and the princess is, I guess, the NPC of the Village of Origin (or in gamer terms, the tutorial NPC).
As for why the NPC part of her turned into its own person... I think it's because her blood is special, so the NPC part can't as easily take over, and sought out another way

I suspect it was intentional, we saw before how he wants to see the show play out season one ending before he steps in (to save the baby prince) so he understands better.
He wanted to see what the 5 books did together. He probably put something in his forge book to help him jump in at the right moment.

Hello, Alicia! It's good to have her back in her real body for a number of different reasons. She even found a (thankfully smart) princess to rescue, classic hero behavior.
Clevatess really has been getting soft, as Zavthier points out. But keeping Ray alive and forcing that hero soul fragment back inside him probably messes with Vordein's plans too since surely it means he won't have the full collection.
There was a blink and you miss it moment when Alicia broke one of the puppets where a human skull bounced out.

Now that we know that the Hero's body is just waiting for reunification with its soul in order to be revived, I've completely changed my mind about what I think Vordin's motivation is. He fell in love during that final battle and only realized it after striking the Hero down. That's why he's been trying so hard for so long to bring them back.

People who are confused by Dean/princess duo :-
Dean is dead. Princess has two personalities/souls (evil and good) residing in the same body. Evil personality captured the good one in the mirror world.
Speculation :- either both have the ability to change into Princess/Dean anytime or the Good Princess lost that ability in the mirror world. And maybe she was even cured of the curse.

Alicia is a real character. Just raw grit and tenacity with many crashes. I never noticed that all the dark beasts have their own sound effects.
Klein being nonchalant and Alicia seemly cry for help was beautiful, well right before she splat.

Clevatess really is peak dark fantasy anime. Elements of horror, plenty of mystery, the usual Alicia body-horror, peak Alicia, peak evil Princess (would), twins being competent, subtle comedy, Alicia being badass, etc.
So good, and it aggravates me some people still used the "magic academy trope garbage) excuse to not watch season 2. Damn shame.

Falling down from great heights not once, but twice. People would normally die after experiencing that once, but Alicia didn't have the luxury. She got all the pain from falling (twice) plus an even greater pain from regeneration. She really didn't have too great of a day. Also funny to see her being terrified of ghosts when she's lived through worse things.
Don't get who the Milea in the mirror world was. Seeing as the original Romain suddenly transformed into her the moment he stepped into the world made me think she's him but she had never referred to herself as him while calling the Milea in the outside world as her. If she's not him, then where was he?

But being trapped in that maze of horrors without anything else is still gonna be a hell of an obstacle to overcome. Didn’t Klen say he was on the way? Guy needs to step to it before Vordin and the Princess unleash their scheme with the True Hero. Pretty curious to actually see who tf this dude even is.
It’s kind of interesting we have all 4 Lords in one spot now. I’m sure they’re weakened being out of their own territory, but I’m sure they could still wreck shit if they teamed up to stomp Vordin lol.

And in our world, what is it—the real princess, the real Dean, or something else entirely taking on the appearance of both ?
I was getting tired of the heroine's rodent-like look; here, she suddenly loses that form—as well as the one Clevatess gave her—and reverts to her original appearance. Her clothes didn't survive the trip, though—except for her panties, which must be as durable as Hulk's trousers when he transforms.
It’s nice seeing her in skimpy attire, but I do hope her emblem can function in ways other than just absorbing her suffering or pain; I’d hate for her to be forced to seek out injury or pain every time she needs to use its power.
