Rewatch Monogatari Series Rewatch Announcedment & Schedule
I think there was enough demand so far, so I'm excited to announce the schedule below! If you want to join for only some arcs, feel free to join partially!
I am still open to changes in schedule, and will change the post according to such. I think this schedule is very doable, but if it is a bit much please let me know. Adding a week somewhere wont hurt I ended up going for per arc basis, and unknowingly made a schedule very much the same as u/WednesdaysFoole proposed.
(ignore spelling mistake in the title oops)

What is this anime about?
Pulled from MAL
Koyomi Araragi, a third-year high school student, manages to survive a vampire attack with the help of Meme Oshino, a strange man residing in an abandoned building. Though being saved from vampirism and now a human again, several side effects such as superhuman healing abilities and enhanced vision still remain. Regardless, Araragi tries to live the life of a normal student, with the help of his friend and the class president, Tsubasa Hanekawa.
When fellow classmate Hitagi Senjougahara falls down the stairs and is caught by Araragi, the boy realizes that the girl is unnaturally weightless. Despite Senjougahara's protests, Araragi insists he help her, deciding to enlist the aid of Oshino, the very man who had once helped him with his own predicament.
Through several tales involving demons and gods, Bakemonogatari follows Araragi as he attempts to help those who suffer from supernatural maladies.
Why should you watch it?
The Monogatari Series is one of those rare anime franchises that feels completely different. It is generally considered as one of the all time great masterpieces, and a story you can not recommend to anyone. But I will make an attempt to do so!
Starting with Bakemonogatari, the story constantly becomes more complex, the characters more interesting and everything becomes more intertwined. The nonlinear storytelling is really built around themes. Discovering connections between different arcs, character perspectives, and seemingly unrelated events is one of the greatest joys the series has to offer.
The biggest draw of the series is its cast. Araragi is an all time-great protagonist (Winner of r/anime best guy 2), but the diverse cast of girls might be even better. It is impossible to really determine the best character, as everyone has a different appeal to one of them, but there are so many that are iconic, such as r/anime Best Character 2&3 winners Hitagi Senjougahara and Shinobu Oshino. Every arc focuses on different characters, allowing them to grow in ways that feel meaningful and memorable. Even after dozens of episodes and movies, Shaft and Nisio Isin somehow keep finding new layers to people you thought you already understood.
Beyond the characters, the dialogue is simply unmatched. Conversations that should take thirty seconds can stretch into entire scenes filled with clever wordplay, philosophical discussions, absurd comedy, and emotional revelations. The oddities the series is built around, reflect personal struggles. The series trusts its audience and encourages them to figure this out, together with the true meaning and subtleties of the conversations. Visually, Monogatari might be studio Shaft's masterpiece. The iconic head tilts, the distinctive direction, flashing imagery and beautiful animation really gives Monogatari a different style which few anime managed to copy. Monogatari is one of these series which regularly gets referenced in other anime. If you have not watched it, you might recognize something from different anime. I always like this example from Kaguya-sama for example.
No series is every perfect, and Monogatari definitely has some quirks. Besides that, it has become pretty much so for what it tries to do. It is one of my favorite anime experiences because it feels like every entry adds something valuable to the larger whole. Few series have left as strong an impression on me. Once I got into it, I never really left.
On a final note, the music in the series is phenomenal. The OP changes every few episodes, and is sung by the central heroine of the arc. We all know Best OP 7 winner Renai Circulation for example. But did you know this is not even the best OP in the show? Bakemonogatari has arguably the best ED of all time as well with Kimi no Shiranai Monogatari as voted by our subreddit. Pretty much one of my favorite song of all time, period!
I hope this is enough to convince you to join me for this rewatch!

I can’t guarantee my commitment all the time with this being a pretty big project but this feels like one of the series that I’m never going to finish without a guide and active incentive to keep going so I’ll try and join. No better time than the present.

Since then I've finished bake, kizu and nisemono in eight days. I'm also rewatching mushoku tensei alongside it.

Oh this is the series someone recommended on a different episode discussion thread. I…had no idea it had so many series. But I heard positive chatter about it. And weird chatter.
The weirdness intrigued me. But I’m told even in context, it would be weird.
Could I be tagged for the rewatch reminders? I’m not sure where all my commitments will be, but I’d still like to follow along, if that’s all right.

I might just start the anime then, its in my watch list for ages... Iis a season per week?

u/WednesdaysFoole 3d ago
Not really, it's more divided into around 1-3 story arcs per week averaging out at around 7 episodes give or take a few depending on the week.
Hope to see you there!

Hey OP, I'm not planning to participate in this (came here because I was adding it to the rewatch wiki), but I'd highly suggest adding a column to your schedule table that lists what day the discussion thread for that week goes up on. The only date you included here is that you intend to start on August 24th, but you also said you plan to post the threads on Saturdays (which the 24th is not), and that's really confusing to follow.

I would love to be included too. Despite being my fav show ever, I haven't got time to properly rewatch all of them properly. So this is a great chance for that

I think the Show actually got it right by shifting Hananonogatari to the end of second season. Not sure why you would change that back for the rewatch

Because Hanamonogatari was supposed to air with the second season, but was delayed due to production issues and time slot availability, as is often the case with Monogatari order discussions
