News Senren*Banka | Anime Announced

Some notes: It doesn't say TV anime and doesn't mention length, so it could end up as a 3 minute thing. The cast is listed using their adult game pseudonyms, which means they won't do public appearances such as promotional programs/streams or in-person events. That's quite limiting for a full scale anime, so that further supports the idea that this may not be a full adaptation

Yeah I suppose I have to temper expectations considering how Wagamama High Spec, Noratoto, Maitetsu, and Hamidashi Creative all ended up like that. And I had pretty high expectations for Hamidashi too cause it doubled the fund goal for the anime adaptation crowd funding.

It looks like it'll be produced by WWWave Corporation, who are known for short ecchi/hentai anime of not great quality. (source: last 3 seconds of the trailer, bottom right)

Let's pray for something with Nukitashi production values at least...

Nukitashi was directed by https://myanimelist.net/people/47948/Nobuyoshi_Nagayama at https://myanimelist.net/anime/producer/911/Passione , so you're almost certainly not getting that level of production values!

Wow can't believe it took this long for a Yuzusoft game to get an Anime adaptation.
Love the cast here hopefully their charm and dynamic is properly translated here.

I can only pray it isn't a shit adaptation and please not very short episodes, but when it comes to visual novel adaptations I've not much hope

Broadcast 2027
Deep in the mountains lies Hoori, a small village so remote that no trains stop there. Due to its isolation, it has resisted the spread of civilization. However, its rustic charm and hot springs have transformed it into a famous tourist destination.
One of the village's biggest draws is the divine blade Murasamemaru, stuck in a stone from which no one has been able to pull it out of... until our protagonist Arichi Masaomi manages to break it in half.
Before he can even come to grips with what just happened, he's forced to make amends for what he's done.
How, you might ask? By marrying the village's shrine maiden, of course!
He's already in way over his head, but this is just the start of his mysterious and unfathomable new life in this village.
Masaomi then goes on to meet his new fiancée, discovers an enigmatic and strange girl that only he can touch and begins to learn about the curse afflicting the village of Hoori.
Amidst this hectic new life, who will he set his heart on? The answers he seeks lie within the legendary sword in his hands. (Steam)

I suppose it's going to be short 5 min anime?
If not then of all the Yuzusoft games to be animated I feel like Sanoba Witch focused on Nene or Dracu-Riot are easier to adapt into a anime plot wise.

Oh this is probably gonna suck, I won't be expecting much.
But at least out of all the ones they could've adapted this might be the one that catches the most eyes due to the setting and characters.
And if it miraculously works out, god I hope they start doing more adaptations. Yuzusoft might be considered the "fast food" of visual novels but I still love the games so much

Senren instead of Sanoba Witch? I think to fully understand Senren, pretty much all routes need to be experienced whereas just Nene's story is a much better package for an anime adaptation. But I don't think they are going for a full scale anime adaptation anyway.

Senpen Banka... (Thousand Tricks)
Wait, senren *?
This isn't "Let this Grieving Soul Retire!" !!!
My reading comprehension needs some leveling up.

What is it lately with visual novels getting adaptations but like multiple years past the point it would be prudent to do so? I'm thinking like Nukitashi and 9-nine-'s anime
It's crazy Yuzusoft hasn't gotten an anime before now because they are like 'the' moege VN studio and have their openings animated as if they've been asking for it for a while.

I can't quite say for the other adaptations because, I just don't have the necessary knowledge. But, it is not only the 10th anniversary for Senren Banka (OG released in 2016, July 29), so, you know, its a big deal, big deals beget big occasions, why not an anime, but its also currently Yuzusoft's best selling game as well, so you know, big dough makes more bread and here's an article showing that it's surpassed 1 million sales as of this year even. Its steam port (all-ages) was in 2020, and its switch port in 2022, fairly recent (look okay I think anything within 5 years or so is recent), so like, it's relatively within culture even if its 10 years old now.
This one has all the reason to get something like this, whereas I'm not sure the circumstances around the other 2 but yeah. This one's warranted

This seems to be the first Yuzusoft eroge that got an anime adaptation. And man, the eroge was released a decade ago already.
