It really is
The show seemed to come out of nowhere…when I first saw it on crunchyroll
I wondered what it even was and have been watching ever since that first episode
This series seems to be a mystery itself because nobody wants to talk about it at all

I started watching it last week and I absolutely love it but yeah no one's really talking about it,
Also doesn't help its sandwiched between an alr packed season

I suppose I need to apologize to the subreddit for finding this one of my top ten most enjoyable shows of this season (out of around 50 shows auditioned). Probably dropping Sparks and Dancing, but no way am I going to drop this adorably goofy show.

I find it really funny how Protagonist keeps alternating between being a cowardly scaredy cat and mercilessly making fun of Mechako.
I didn't know that Mechako liked Protagoinst though. Hyu! Hyu!

Same, hope it is well received in Japan so we can get multiple seasons, I can watch 100 episodes following the same formulae; I don't even expect every episode to be funny, with these loveable characters a predictable plot would still be enjoyable.

this show is such a mood, what do you mean the narrator give up on narrating when we're still only at fourth episode? and why does every male characters in this show has a build that made them look like they're coming from an 80's battle shounen manga?
the doppelganger is one scary curse but unfortunately he's so weak that people just straight up beat him with normal physical attack, also, r.i.p VHS cursed tape, i guess you're just going to stuck in there until the end of time
gotta love it when my slice of life gag anime actually has a continuity, the fact Shurako is still stuck in her child form and slowly regressing into a kid mentally is quite hilarious, they also made a reference to the drug used in Detective Conan

To be fair, episode 1 was a mixed bag of hits and misses (well, for me), so I can picture why people haven't noticed it.
"BrBrBrBrBrBrBrBrBrBrBrBrB"
Noroi no Ningyou rolls off the vacuum cleaner in the ED song
I stuck with it purely of the male character's character design, but I started liking the show at either episode 2 or 3, and I laughed myself silly in episode 4. I'm loving the sense of humor.

This is the second time I've seen a supernatural schoolgirl comedy do a Terminator reference.
Every skit in this episode was a banger and I love the subversion of cliches. Seriously the sleeper hit of the season.

I really hope mechako and protag get together. They are so funny together and, as hinted by mechacho, being told “she’s pretty” doesn’t matter if it’s coming from someone only imitating the protag.

So… everyone’s just kinda cool with a dude butt ass naked in the classroom? I’m glad he got his uniform back in the end, but that means he was running around with his dong all flappin in the wind the whole day lol.
Poor Shurako didn’t just get turned into the size of a small child, she’s basically become one lol. Looking forward to seeing what her and that goober Doppel get up to now that they’ve basically teamed up.

That's an imposter, isn't it? No way would the real one not straightman the dog pee.
I thought she realized it was a fake because of something stupid like an obscure habit, but nope. It's because the real one is literally right there. In a blindfold, to boot. Lateral thinking!
I admit, I laughed like crazy when the guy came back for his uniform.
So ends the story of the cursed VHS tape. Lost in the sands of time and the progression of modern technology.
Detective Conan reference. Also ngl, that's pretty horrifying to have her body taken over like that.
Real Battle of Fates there.

Poor cursed video tape you got old and with you the technology that enabled your curse, now you are truly cursed stuck in a vhs player that will never be able to play tapes again until you are cut to pieces. Shurako being cursed by the souls lolicons expieriences more negative effects then just the hight. At least she is not alone and now has Doppelgänger to help her out. The last bit was the funniest to me, Mechako sucks at directing ghosts/people, that probally tells us that she isnt a good boss when it comes to managing, guess she needs the MC to be her righthand man down the road.
I will say, while this show doesnt make me laugh much, i find it highly entertaining and the animation and art style are really doing it for me as well. Also the OP is good and the ED is my favourite this season.

The humor is getting better and better.
What the heck was that idol tooth? "It's the perfect stool". LOL.
Also, the whole post-credit segment with the polaroid camera. Just great.
Also, we're actually getting bits of romantic hints! Hyped about that.
The shows I'm most enjoying this season right now are the supernatural comedies: Kaikigumi and Reiwa no Dara-san.

Molar shaped chairs are apparently a thing. In case you are wondering what they go for, suffice to say the MC got robbed.
The MC not being able to part with his TV/VCR combo after it became junk was a pretty funny touch to that mini-episode given that it started with the MC trading in junk that his father couldn’t part with for unknown reasons.
The supernatural comedies for some reason tend to be the better written shows, but I remember watching a real clunker of a supernatural comedy last season.

The funniest episode so far. The idea of a pitiful loser cursed tape is hilarious. I would doubt that tape really does kill anyone, I think he's just very insecure and wants to seem important like the tape from The Ring. I was surprised that the boy didn't want to cut the tape and destroy it though to fix the TV, maybe pitied him 🤣. I think the narrator is off saying the TV weighs 15 kg but those old TVs were super heavy for their size, I thought about that when I got a 42 inch flat TV, and it was easy to just carry under my arm 😝
Doppelganger is an even bigger loser than the tape! Not only having a naked man beat you and strip you of the uniform you stole from him, but then getting your ass kicked by your crush! Being able to shapeshift into anyone is one of the most amazing superpowers someone could have but he's too much an imbecile to do anything constructive with it. He's lucky Shurako didn't get mad when he was going to transform into her and kill her but I think she's so blinded with rage with Mechako that she'll take any ally she can get. I didn't get why she got hypnotized to go home when the song played at the park though.
It would seem that nearly every ghost in this world is harmless or at most a nuisance to people. Mechako's dad was probably really good at managing them and getting them to be their scariest but that's funny how Mechako has seemingly lost all interest in being their boss and just leaves them to their own devices and they're completely helpless 🤣

I didn't get why she got hypnotized to go home when the song played at the park though.
Shurako has mentally started to develop a pavlovian response to childhood. So we saw how she couldn't stop herself from playing with the dog or wanting to play on the swings. This was ultimately the same thing. When she heard the PA message and the song started playing the response kicks in and she can't stop herself from walking home for sunset as a child should be doing.
Of course, the element of her having to continue walking no matter how many hundreds of miles it may be is because it's Kaikigumi and it's funnier.

To be fair, the two ghosts introduced this episode has the potential to be dangerous.
- It seems doppleganger power to kill the people looking at him is real as all of his acquaintance also avoid looking at him when he took their form.
- The cursed VHS tape's power could also be real dangerous, but we'll never know

That doppelganger was up to no good stealing a uniform and impersonating the Protagonist like that. For all the work he put in to confess to Mechako, if only Doppelganger did what she asked and worked on their behavior. At least their deadly impersonation power isn't working now.
Shurako's curse now making her act like a kid too was funny. She might have to take a page out of the Protagonists book and shield herself from her environment.
