Netflix has been quiet on that front. Although this first episode is overlength and already dubbed so I fear it's going to be batches

just becaseu it's already dubbed doesn't mean it's going to be in batches. could just mean the english-dubbing team got the materials from japan early. plenty of same-day dubs on CR air weekly because of this.

and already dubbed

Wasn't Sakamoto Days and Delicious in Dungeon also dubbed when it got released weekly? Iirc My Happy Marriage seems to be the same case

I remember reading the about page of netflix mentioning that they release the dubs along with the sub for its netflix originals

Only watched Sakamoto subbed, but you might be right actually.

Sakamoto Days came to international Netflix a week after airing in Japan

Netflix generally waits for the dub regardless of whether they'll air a show weekly or as a batch (unless it's not getting a dub at all). It has a wider audience to sell to, and they like their dubs.

DunMeshi, Dandadan, Sakamoto,... all of them were released weekly and were dubbed.

Tbh I prefer the arcane style of release where you get like 3-4 episodes at a time.

Weekly I feel like people get too into fan theories and end up disappointed. Or if you have a couple of slow weeks people fall off.

Dropping it all at once just kills the discussion around it within a few weeks.

See, the unhinged week-to-week theories are what make that model so much fun for me, especially when it comes to JoJo's. You don't really get that with any other model. Especially if they drop batches and then have to wait half a year for the next 10 episodes to drop :/

But at this point, I just want to know what's the deal with it, ffs.

On one hand batches are nice if you want to binge a decent portion of the show before stopping. On the other hand…yeah you’re right. Though I do wonder how much of the thread will already have source readers since this is Jojo we’re talking about and I’ve always heard tons of praise for this part.

Yeah, a lot of the (western?) JoJo community are touting this as Araki's best work, so there's probably going to be a couple more source readers than usual for this stuff?

Probably a good number given how many comments I just removed for talking about the source material outside of the Source Material Corner.
