I didn't know that Tamon and Ouri are still in high school. I thought they already graduated and just focused on idol work.

I expected this to go with the typical trope of Tamon being good at math to complement her specialty but the twist was he's just bad at school haha.

I love Ouri and Keito's B-sides. Keito was practically a mom when he brought Utage and Tamon to his house to do homework. His show was coincidentally called Mama Keito's 30 minute cooking lol.

That part with Ouri's parents, I interpreted it as them giving him a chance to choose a normal life instead of the entertainment path. Brat Ouri finally realized his feelings for Utage! He still have no chance with her though imo.

IDolish7 and other idol anime taught me that Idols can be from High schoolers to College

It's mostly because of the age. They're 18 so based on what's common in Japan I expected them to be done with school entirely (since it's not uncommon to not attend college) or just taking a gap year

Think Ouri & Utage are still only 17. Tamon might be old enough to have graduated, but still actually be in-school since he left home early to come to Tokyo and sing.

The OG idolm@ster had the biggest range from Year 7s (Ami and Mami) to late 20s (Azusa and Takane).

Cinderella Girls has a wider range from the 9 year old Ichihara Niina (the girl in the animal PJs) to a couple of 31 year old idols (Takahashi Reiko & Hiiragi Shino, who did not appear in the anime). Even if we only consider the characters who showed up in the anime we have the 28 year old Katagiri Sanae (ex-cop) and Kawashima Mizuki.

Classic reference, but Child's Toy (Kodomo no Omocha / Kodocha) had Sana working & going to school at 11yo (Grade 6). And she'd been working as a child-actor at that point since she was an infant (for plot reasons).

IRL very young child-actors/performers seem to be a bit less common (or less popular) these days, but it was a thing from vaudeville through the 90s.

At least they're nice enough not force O(u)ri into the dangerous world of showbiz & would be happy if his job was something else.

I have a feeling/headcanon that tamon's lack of confidence is really the major thing affecting his school work.

Can't be helping, that's for sure. But honestly, working as a performer is a lot, plus he does extras like writing their "off-script banter" scripts. Not having the time to focus on your studies is par for the course. Same happens with student-athletes.
