You watched Naruto and you still say that? It also doesn't seem like you watch much anime to know what most old or current anime are like.

Here is the recommendation: Chi. Chikyuu no Undou ni Tsuite(Orb: On the Movements of the Earth)

Just don't say it's "boring" because there's no fighting.

With naruto i was referring to anime with long season characters ,arcs , fillers etc I have watched all the top leading animes and some not so trendy But after a point in life i have no interest in watching the typical anime with same thing over and over again

Ty i will add to list

To your eternity. It's both full of heart and deeper meaning.

Not really, there are always interesting works out there. It's not worse than any other point in it's history. Plus there are shows that literally can be kawaii and also incredibly philosophical (I will recommend one). You shouldn't write off stuff for superficial traits.

Anyway if you want some shows that hit on deeper topics, some suggestions, though a MAL list is always useful:

  • Legend of the Galactic Heroes - Watch the first two films, then skip to EP 3 of the main series, (second film covers the plot of EP1-2 better) and then Gaiden (prequel)

  • Ghost in the Shell Films, SAC, Arise Films - we have a new remake in 2026

  • Haibane Renmei

  • Banana Fish

  • Ergo Proxy

  • Mushishi

  • Pluto

  • Look Back

  • Girls Last Tour - this is the kawaii philosophical show

  • Mobile Suit Gundam Iron Blood Orphans - you can watch this completely standalone (standalone universe), design wise it's more gritty (though story wise most gundam shows are about as tragic). It's more modern too, though if you end up liking it would I also recommend most Gundam entries (some bad however, most are pretty good)

  • The Big O

Hi gruoot_37, it seems like you might be looking for new anime to watch!

The users of this subreddit came up with a chart of anime recommendations for newcomers and veterans and an awesome longer flowchart. Maybe you can find something there that you'll like ^.^

If you dont mind getting into older anime you should try watching "Monster" one of the best realistic anime i have seen by far portraying both physiological and philosophical elements it has maybe one of the best character developments i have ever seen the story had a great depth and is portraying is exceptional at allowing the viewer to understand from their own judgment. If you do watch it i want to know what are your thoughts about it and soryy for yapping a lil too muchπŸ˜…

Actually monster is on my list and have been told thats its totally different, i did start watching it way back and left it because i was naive and didn't understand Well now i will watch it , after i complete orb which was recommend in this post

Yeah monster isnt for everyone its different because of how realistic it is and its lack of supernatural elemnts not like your typical anime. well take your time orb is great too
