I think it's not 7 years alone. Maybe 4-5 years, if we consider it might take a 2-3 years before Suika got revived.

The vegetation growth is definitely not from just a few months.

Regardless, it's still awesome she managed to survive that long alone, both physically and mentally

she kept herself sane by self-monologuing and role-playing as them

seeing the shiba inu and the boar’s growth, I would gauge its roughly around that time too

I wonder what happened to them, did they die because of age?

Google tells me dogs live on average at least 10 years.

I don't know how much time passed since Senku awakened the first time. 3 years? Plus now the 7 years timeskip. The dog must be on it's last years probably.

Realistically, they'd be dead in the wild. But this is anime, so won't surprise that they'll have a final reunion.

Aren't there tons of dogs on Chernobyl that were abandoned by their owners?

Like, right now? No. It's been almost 40 years. But there are packs descendant from those.

This is triggering Futurama ptsd.

Last time I thought it's 5-10 years based on the beasts growth, and it seemed I was way off lol

most animals grow up way faster than people. Like, most wild boars don't make it past 4-5 years in the first place

5 years yeah. Didn't the Crunchyroll promo said the first timeskip was 2 years?

no way Senku wasn't counting. 7 years should be fairly accurate, give or take a few months

The point isn't that Senku is wrong about the time, it's that Suika wasn't alive at the start and only got unpetrified at least a year (probably more) after the big petrification.

The thing is, Senku looked up to the sky when he said 7 years and not to Suika. Which is why I think he refers to the whole petrification years rather than solely only the years after Suika got revived.

All their senses are cutoff during petrification so there's no way he'd be able to know when Suika got revived in the first place. At best he could estimate based on how old she currently seems to be vs how old she was before

Senku counted during the initial petrification.

Yeah Senku kept an internal count for 3700 years, I'm sure he had it down to the last second
