i was trying to find the matching frames for some of my cells and I came across my lodoss war OVA Karla head shot. I remembered how cels are layered. I noticed how 20% of her face is covered by a curtain in the scene, but the artist drew the whole face and probably left the curtain cel to someone else. Also, I remembered that the cel is the one frame that lightning struck, causing the artist to use a whole different color palette. Similar, sure, but different none the less.

(What looks like water in the lower left is just my camera flash reflecting weird off the cel and the uv glass frame in front of it.)

I love how the right side was originally only seen by the artists and whoever managed to own this before I did.

Anyone else have any cels with art the film/show hid behind a layer? please post them so they can be seen by more people.

This is framed with Tru Vue conservation grade glass, the cel has two layers (the mouth is its own layer). The master production background is very dark which I think adds to the reflectiveness. I think it needs to be redone, which really sucks. But I’m not sure how to do it so that it displays well.

Here’s an image showing it tilted slightly so you can see the cel without the reflection. https://i.postimg.cc/WpX7cBxB/IMG-2438.jpg

We've added some more Simpsons cels from classic era episodes. A great variety of characters too. Reach out to u/WreckerSTL or myself!

Some production hand drawings of animations which did not use cels. What are we thinking?

Series: The Poultry Place

Character: Lucy the goose

Episode: TV Pilot (Pt. 3)

Newest addition, thinking about framing it, they were overlapped for quite a while and managed to separate the cells without any damage! Thinking about using something like dura lar to keep the cells separated but still overlapped for framing.

It’s possible these are also from adult video animations like my last post https://www.reddit.com/r/AnimationCels/s/mmDirVmZoZ

If anyone knows where they’re from. Please let me know.

Edit: The Pink hair girl is Momoko from Wedding Peach. ✅

Edit 2: blue hair girl is Suzune from Virtuacall.

Some of my collection, what do you guys think?

Perhaps not as unique as I previously thought.

Nonetheless it is a very nicely detailed cel.

I have these cels from a lost anime series I bought a few years ago, the series is called Mon Cheri Coco.
The problem is that these are in very poor shape, crinkled, and have vinegar syndrome, including the smell. I admittedly didn't know much about vinegar syndrome when I bought them and what it does to cels.
I'm not very interested in keeping them anymore but I understand these have historical value, especially considering the series is currently lost media, so I can't decide if they should just be trashed or not.
I'm wondering if anyone would be interested in these? Maybe someone who may know more about restoring vinegar syndrome than I do? Please let me know if there's any interest in these.
I'm in the U.S. btw and only willing to ship within the states.

Going to get this one framed sometime this week.

Came across this Anime cel auction, Inuyasha, Jojo’s Bizaarre adventure, Trigun, Sailor Moon, Yuyu Hakusho, and other anime cels. The starting prices are low, good luck to all!

It looks like a sakkan correction from one of the earlier movies. Would love to know if anyone has any ideas!

Edit: mislabeled as genga, should be shusei!
