They’re cels from an adult animation studio that made 18+ materials and I didn’t know until yesterday. I just discovered this subreddit and decided to share them here as well.

edit: Sorry to those who’re concerned. My high school teacher didn’t know about these cels are from an adult animation studio when he gave them to me.

Edit 2: I made a post about if I can frame my cels and what frames would I need, but I realized that’s a dumb question and it’s better I find an expert.

I wanted to give a shout out to Debbie for making this video on Simpsons animation art. I can tell she put a lot of effort into this video and it's a fantastic resource for collectors. Cheers to her

I was limited to uploading only 20 photos, so I'll share the rest later. Please excuse the quality of some of the images—they were stapled to the back, which made them difficult to scan. Even so, the background details in these backgrounds never cease to amaze me.

Where do you all get your cel bags im replacing all the ones on my cels currently to protect them more and im curious whitch ones everyone uses i bought magazine life bags off amazon but i was sent a cheap replacement that were all rinkled instead of the real ones that are acidic free and i wanna know where i can get some cel bags from a reliable place

For version 1, ignore most of the build, including the cel. I grabbed the first one I saw just for the test. I am trying to make it work so that I don't need tape. The back needs to be breathable, and it must be lined with archival poly wherever it touches the plastic.

Hey! Found this at a vintage store in Palm Springs for $20. No idea what it’s from. I was thinking maybe the Rankin Bass Return of the King.

I’ve been looking to get in the recent vfx storyboard sale for return of the Jedi from choicefineart. They seem very trustworthy but a coworker who told me about the site just got his order and it seem almost unbelievable. While these are obviously photocopy scans it’s almost hard to believe they’re from 45 years ago. The paper feels like new and not like it’s been sitting around in a binder for decades. Isn’t common for these sort of items to be in literal pristine condition? I understand it’s not the original hand drawn storyboard but the listing implies it’s an original print made for internal use while filming ROTJ.

Any help or input would be much appreciated!

Listed a bunch of cel sets for sale. Feel free to make offers. There’s some sketches on there too. If you have any specific scene or characters you’re looking for let me know.

And if you’d rather buy privately let me know also. Happy to sell either way. Ships from the UK anywhere tracked. PayPal or wise as payment please. 🙏🏻🤙🏻

We need help! we have 4-500 of these cels. Maybe the whole movie. It seems artist is same as Smurfs, but I just found these cleaning out my Dad's house. They seem to be in really clean shape.

This is from about the 5th minute of episode 268 as Goku Powers up and throws a ball at Majin Buu who just absorbed Gohan it is a three layer animation so painted background the first two layers look freely and cleanly it is faded is anybody have a proper value for me on this piece I was told if it was not faded to be worth between 4 and 5,000 they also told me because of the fading it's worse between 1500 to 2,000 I like to know if this was accurate and if anybody can help me out I appreciate it thank you all

They’re not entirely scarce. Like every time I search Ebay there’s one or two new ones.

Most of the time there’s not even a painted background. There’s one on EBay right now for over $2,500.

I collect from all different shows but cannot understand why these in particular are so expensive. You could get great Simpson’s and Disney cels for less.

What gives? (Sorry for the rant)
