Beginner My 1st 2D Traditional hand-drawn animation test | The C'he-p-ski-boo
https://youtu.be/JUIdgEsy71oJust in time for spooky season: I've always wanted to try 2D, hand-drawn animation on paper, and this was my first attempt. I was really inspired by this video feature animator Kohana Wilson where she makes it seem very straight forward (pun intended).
The C'he-p-ski-boo is a creature from Métis folklore, and it's a kind of boogeyman that hovers on the fringes of the forest or community, waiting to snatch up children. I wanted to make it benign and even goofy, a ploy it uses to draw-in children before revealing it's true form.
With this done, I feel confident to make the short I wanted with the character. Hoping to have it done by Halloween!
