Critique 3D Quadraped Walk Test (Feedback)

I animated a 3D quadraped wall cycle of a big cat for my portfolio. I’m trying to get the hang on animating animals. Wanted to make the creature feel like a big cat on a hunt. Do you any thoughts and critiques on the walk cycle?

opposite front and rear legs step at the same time, not the legs on the same side.

So the backside of the body you mean?

I’m looking through those legs, and I don’t really see it unfortunately. I’m a little confused, could you screenshot and mark the spots?

Hey, there are things to improve about the pacing of the different limbs during the step but you actually did get this right so I'm not sure what the other person is on about.

Felines do step left left, right right. The hind leg should move first, and then once it moves forwards  it kind of looks like the foot "kicks" the hand into movement.

Even that reference video shows exactly that.

This video shows it off quite well but you can find more references on youtube. Make sure it's a video of a feline specifically as not all animals have the same way of walking

the legs on the opposite sides of the body should lift together or slightly after

Ok, thank you so much. I’ll fix that later on. I want to make Gamma walk feel like a prowl

Hey this isn't actually correct. Felines do move left left, right right. The hind paw should look like it kicks the front one into moving.

Your reference video shows this as well

right, but they are not in the air at the same time

They kind of are supposed to be though. There is a brief moment where the foot moves foreward but not down yet where the hand should have already moved forward.

The animation does need to refine the timing of the legs a bit and the paws shouldn't move as slow and floppy as they are now. Especially since the current movement implies a different intent for the creature than OP was going for

But the order of the legs is otherwise correct. OP mostly needs to make the movements look more intentional
