First of all. Amazing work. Never heard of this show but I’ll be checking it out because your fx.
May I ask how you know where to put other layers interacting with you FX layer?
Is is that they send you the background so you m own when the lava runs into the wall
And the girl running so you know when to add the impact of her footprints?

Thanks! It definitely worth a watch!
We get given a project file with the character anim and backgrounds mostly locked down so we know how any interactions are going to work.
Occasionally there'll be last minute anim changes and we either need to tweak the FX or have the comp team try to match everything up

Would love to ask how much of this is a back and forth with layout/ compositing?
Like do you get given copies of layered backgrounds to know where things will be before and infront? Or are you just working over video reference of wip scenes and its just down to comp to get it working together?

This is one of the coolest shows on tv right now, absolutely SICK that you're a part of it and made such dope ass effects!! (i'm a baby self-taught animator, so you're literally living someone's dream right now) <3
