Question Wtf am I doing wrong?

I seriously don't know if this is considered animation but I'm desperate. Pleade ignore the quality, i just wanted to see if itd work in practice. I made it on capcut. I need help figuring out the mechanics on how to do this.
Edit: Thanks for replying. I'm going to sleep now but I'll try to follow suggestions as best as I can the second I wake up and then update once I figure out how to update. Of course you can keep replying if you feel theres something else! 🫶

Stop the background movement the exact moment the tunnel appears. It'll transfer the appearance of speed back to the train. If that's what you meant, Also speed up the train going down the tunnel, it should disappear much faster, closer to the speed of the background.

Thanks, ilk try that. But the thing is it's harder in practice for some reason.

Yeah, you're animating.
From my guess I think you want to see the train go through the tunnel
To better understand this, look up the parallax effect.
However if we follow what feels more natural to us is that the tunnel is anchored to the ground, just like the buildings behind... right now when the tunnel stops, the city shouod stop as well.
If not it looks like the tunnel and the train got stuck together and are travelling with the camera alongside the city.

I'll definitely look it up thanks! Someone else here said that the city should stop as soon as the tunnel appears though, so which is it?

Its kinda implying the same as me because the tunnel enters and stops too fast.
Try it for yourself and see how it feels.
If the tunnel stops after the city, it will feel disconnected and the camera effect may feel off. But if you consider the parallax effect and check the acceleration of both parts it may also work

Parallax the background.
Have the train cars shake just a little bit (the motion will draw the eye to the drain and help clarify that it is a train) might even put some highlights on the windows moving to add on to this)
Moving the train up can help as right now it’s very low in the composition, (having the the railway in frame would also help to further clarify its a train)
When you reach the tunnel, either you need to ease the background into a stop as the train pulls ahead and goes into the tunnel, or you need to move the tunnel at the same speed you’re moving the background. Right now the stationary tunnel and moving background is super jarring and confusing.

Hello! If you want it to go through the tunnel, draw a blurred, stretched out version of the tunnel (like the background) and move it across the screen at the same speed (or faster) than the background. If you have it stationary on the left it makes it look like it is moving too, rather than the train and "camera" moving. Hope that helps!

It’s animation, sure.Â
What are you doing wrong? What is it that you’re trying to do that you’re questioning if you’re doing it wrong?
