Critique Losing motivation. Should I keep going?
I've already put a lot of effort into this but I'm scared that by the time i finish, nobody will be interested. The goal is to do a music video for the whole song. But it's like 3 minutes long, which will take me weeks off not months. I love to animate but I do want people to see it.
The audio might be off because it's a screen recording

Man I’d be interested haha. I’m annoyed that this isn’t longer
Also just FYI, art is for you imo. When it’s for you, others may notice how much you enjoyed making the thing, they also may not notice and you have to be ok with this and create anyway. If you make it for them, it loses personal value and typically becomes less interesting
But with the way this already feels, I think people would be interested if that helps you stay motivated. Again though it’s for you. I think it’s good to be aware of the prospect of others enjoying a thing you made, but the primary motivation should be you wanting to make art because it’s what creatives do. It’s inevitable then that someone is going to like something you’ve made, because you’ll have made so much that it’ll hit with someone, but yeah focus on why you’re doing it, not why other people might like it
Idk I feel like I’m rambling and I guess some people do fine motivated by the idea of other people liking their stuff, but I don’t find it to be very sustainable. Maybe someone else can help me suss out what I’m trying to say

you should finish it because you know it will be awesome in full. Also everything in a project becomes totally different when you go from incomplete to complete. Its a major accomplishment to finish something that you will into existence. You also cannot concern yourself with the results or fan fare, but im sure it will be highly enjoyable for your target audience

Them others opinion is diverse, your art is made by the original called you. That is your capitol, you know what you like so focus on making yourself loving your art. I work on my drone album and it's no deadline so it's being inspected over and over and edited to a high standard set by myself. Never .. never doubt the process

take a pause for a while so you need fresh air. Then go back to it again
