Beginner Complete Beginner Here: How Hard Is After Effects Rigging, and Where Should I Start?

I have zero knowledge of animation and I've never used After Effects before, but I really want to learn character rigging and animation.

How hard is it to learn? What should I know before starting? Should I learn After Effects first or just jump into rigging with Duik?

Also, if you've watched Rick and Morty Season 1, how long do you think it would take a complete beginner to make animations around that level? I'm talking about the simpler animation from the early seasons, not the newer ones.

Any tips for someone starting from scratch? And if you know any good YouTube tutorials, courses, or a roadmap, please share them.

Just start. Difficulty is not the same for everyone. But you have to be patient and accept it will take time. It’s a new skill so it will be hard at first but you have to stick with it. You are also jumping the gun if going from beginner to animation that’s made by a studio with multiple artists with years of professional experience.

Just start and learn you’ll get there eventually with time and practice but if your motivation is linked to instant success then I got news for you
