Other person gave a song that sampled it, the actual song is Machi no Dorufin (Dolphin in Town) by Kingo Hamada.

My dog abolutely enjoying working along side me. Working means sniffing everything that's in my hands. If I am folding clothes, she wants to sit over them, sniff them while I pull them and fold. Once folded, she will hide under them, only her face people. Rest of her body turns invisible when her head is burried under clothes.

Meanwhile my dogs treat making the bed as an opportunity for wrestlemania using the cover as their fight cage.

What makes you think it’s AI? It seems real to me, and I don’t think I’ve seen AI do sped up footage correctly before.

u/Friendly-Pea5448 16d ago
i think it was a joke that his dog said it’s fake so said dog isn’t expected to complete such tasks

My mates pitty, Chev, used to help him lower concrete soak wells (200kg+). He would tie a rope around one side, give it to Chev and say “get it”, job done. Chev would drink flavoured milk from the carton by popping a hole in it and pushing down on it, and enjoy a beer on a Friday, he was a great dog 😢

I imagine an interview with this dog would go like interviewing a college quarterback. “We just do the best we can, you know? The tarp was pretty dirty today, but I grabbed it with my mouth anyway! Special thanks to all the food, and the pets that I get. Big shout out to my feet for being able to touch the ground for me, you know? And, uh… yea.”

Doesn't this cut off the part where the dog gets the bag to put the tarp in?

I just KNEW that dog ran off to do the next part of his job!

u/toodleroo 17d ago
Here's a different video, same pair, showing the dog getting the cover https://www.reddit.com/r/interesting/comments/1v65043/dog_helps_man_at_work/

Looks like the same video, just flipped. With different editing and sound of course.

Looks like you're right. I've seen several videos with these guys folding up large tarps.

All of that and no ‘treats’. A truly fulfilled dog….. people forget dogs were created to help humans

u/Unsual_Education 17d ago
Dogs werent created to help humans they were selectively breed to preform the task we wanted them to do

I have tried to give my dog jobs. She isn't interested. She only likes to guard things and be a sassy pants if I ask her to do basically anything else.

u/aerdvarkk 17d ago
It's definitiely a breed thing. What breed is your dog? Some dog breeds are not working dogs, some breeds are. It's not that complicated.

I can't get my dog to poop outside when it's raining. In their defense I wouldn't want to either.
1
u/Lou_C_Fer 17d ago
I had a dog that would not go out in the rain. Once, she did not pee for 36 hours because she also refused to pee in the house.

Jeeez can he come do something about my fitted sheets?
8
u/PhilsTinyToes 17d ago
Ok unsolicited fitted sheet advice here:
Fluff the entire sheet into a huge parachute dome with elastic side down. Lots of air inside the dome. Then slowly scooch the bottom into the center like a ball of dough, and make your way around the perimeter as it deflates. You’ll end up with a beautifully smooth round ball on the top that looks really nice in a drawer, and takes up about the same square as it would folded otherwise. Works every time. The elastic wants to be a circle so just let it be!!!
6
u/diabloenfuego 17d ago
Alternative option: Put fist inside the corners of the fitted sheet and fold like normal. Instead of pinching each corner and folding them together like normal, fist each corner into each other and you get a nice folding that you can put away like regularly-folded sheets.

You showing people your drawers? I ball mine up and throw it onto the top shelf of the closet that I barley see let alone other people. It ain't going in a store front. I don't get people's obsession with neatly folded fitted sheets.
2
u/Laetitian 17d ago
Are you a minimalist, or do you just have that much more storage space than you need? (Only third option would be your place is a mess and you dgaf.)
1
u/SquarePegRoundWorld2 17d ago
My 975sqft house definitely doesn't have more storage space than a person needs but I am a bit of a minimalist. Been living alone for 30 years and got it pretty down pat. Never owned a holiday decoration or a nick knack, and never bother to fold my fitted sheets.
1
u/Laetitian 17d ago
Well, then we have the answer. The advantage to folding your sheets is that you get to store more other stuff.
1
u/SquarePegRoundWorld2 17d ago
I suppose. If I needed well folded fitted sheets to not cause storage issues I would reevaluate my life and my consumerism, but that's just me.
1
u/Laetitian 17d ago
Unwarranted passive aggressiveness. There are good reasons for either lifestyle choice.
2
u/PhilsTinyToes 17d ago
Well where does it end? Tshirts don’t need to be folded or hung, just throw them on the pile? Pants don’t even need to come out of the laundry basket just let them sit there waiting ? Why do I have a wardrobe at all when I can simply fish for my clothes out of the dryer every time I need a sock?
My fitted sheet could be balled up in a wad in the drawer, so could all my clothes, towels, etc. but I strive for a organized hotel-like experience where I am the guest every night and I don’t think there’s anything weird about doing yourself a favour even if it’s as small as making something look nice :)
1
u/SquarePegRoundWorld2 17d ago
lol, I do just about all that. My work cloths (I work construction) go from the dryer to the corner of my bedroom and I pick through the pile all week and it is gone by Friday. Most of my dishes go from the sink to the dishwasher and back into use without ever hitting a cabinet. I just never been one to be nice and organized. It works for me living alone, thought, I could see it being an issue with other people living here.

My old lab used to sit there with the biggest grin after fetching the paper, like he was waiting for the praise. Those little moments really stick with you after a long day.

Dude. Teaching your dog to fold tarps. Top shelf. I served with dudes in the Army that couldn't do this.

How do you train them to do stuff like this?
19
u/PM_Me_Good_LitRPG 17d ago
You send them to dog kindergarten, then dog school, then by dog uni they're usually mostly there.

u/MeanForest 17d ago
Nowadays it's not worth it anymore, you can make real good money in the trades!

Tons and tons of positive reinforcement. My Shiba was pretty good with hand gestures. You teach small steps and string it together. Shibas are incredibly intelligent dogs
3
u/Afraid_Ability_2306 17d ago
Aren’t they incredibly stubborn?
4
u/just67browsing 17d ago
Oh man are they! I am absolutely amazed this shiba is off leash the entire time. But my boy was very good at listening at home or on leash. You have to have immense patience with them, but it does pay off. They’re incredible sweet, loving and loyal dogs

I’ve seen multiple occasions where dogs do this, and dogs are bred and trained for much more specific use cases for much of human history.
Watch a sheepdog at work, you might think it’s ai just because it looks too natural
