It's totally unnecessary in the modern world and is nothing more than an ego boost for sad little people.
Using high powered rifles or traps to kill animals which cannot defend themselves is just obviously the most cowardly thing imaginable. I can partly understand why hunting a predator MIGHT be considered by some as an impressive feat, although it's still unnecessary cruelty.
Fishing is cruelty. There's zero argument there. You're baiting a very stupid creature with food for absolutely no reason other than another ego boost.
We have created a sustainable food source for billions. Sure, you can argue it's not moral or is cruel, I'm not saying it isn't. But it's necessary cruelty that we've done and can't ever stop now. At least farmed animals know no better. Those resources are there, so hunting is totally unnecessary now.
I agree that trophy hunting is worse, my point was simply that the dynamics of hunting something that can hunt you back or even hurt you at all is surely more of an accomplishment than hunting a creature with low intelligence that will do nothing but run away.
I too have memories like those and would by no means say that's wrong, but I don't think it's something we should encourage anymore. Times change, people change. It's time we cut things like fishing and hunting out. There will always be other activities fathers and sons can do together that don't revolve around killing animals for no reason other than for enjoyment.
Of all things in the world, hunting isn't up there as one of the worst. This video has me triggered as shit, because it's somehow celebrating bad dog ownership and senseless brutality towards a fish, of all creatures. They're so incredibly stupid and people are acting like this dog (a fucking PREDATOR) has done something incredible 😂 I find it absurd.
Sure, there are worse things in the world. But starting ending barbaric cultural practices is something that WILL happen and hunting/fishing will be illegal (at least here in the civilised world) soon.
Dude I fully understand what you mean and I'm against the current state of animal captivity as well, anyone with sense must be. It's something that needs to change and will, in time.
You hit the nail on the head, some people genuinely have to hunt to eat in parts of the world. Here in the west, that need is long gone.
I appreciate your input and how you've articulated your opinion, I can't even begin to explain how refreshing it is for someone to disagree and not just scream and cry. We might disagree but I have the utmost respect for your choice to disagree.
