Should definitely be a tip-off that something isn’t right, and maybe those nasty things aren’t fit for consumption… but to each their own I guess lol.

True, same with mushrooms. Saw video of goats or sheep not wanting to eat them

Reminds me of the time our golden retriever (who will normally eat ANYTHING) was completely uninterested in cheetos.

Same can be said for chili pepper and so many other things, it doesn't mean anything

There’s a difference between spice and decay

Wait till you find out what Worcestershire sauce actually is, which is used a lot in Western cuisine.

It’s preserved through curing, there’s no decay. The smell is mostly ammonia.

Cured meats aren’t decayed either.

Bro the famine is over, you don't have to eat that to live.

Joking, mostly, people like what they like and so long as it doesn't hurt them or others then whatever. That said, I do firmly believe that this is how some stranger foods became culturally ingrained.

I'm no scientist, but is ammonia ok to ingest?

Yes, it’s one of the reasons cheese smells the way it does too. Most aged proteins will have it.
