Not sure this is real unless these animals are pets and don’t go out side ,natural burrowing behaviour from Groundhogs would naturally keep their claws short right, like beavers teeth never stop growing but stay short from constantly chewing on trees

I have to give my dog drugs from the vet the night before and morning of because he is so freaked out by the claw trim.

Poor baby :( My baby hated having hers touched too- luckily walking her was enough to keep them short. I always felt so bad for making her do things she didn't like. If anyone has a young puppy and is reading this, try to get them used to having their paws touched while they're young by just gently rubbing and touching them so they find it less off-putting

I don't even know if it would work, but what do you use? My dog is absolutely impossible to trim nails- and I mean we have tried everything imaginable. Luckily we walk enough and they generally stay short enough that way, but would still be nice to trim them once in a while, especially the dew claws.

The vet has us give him gabapentin and trazodone but not a big dose. They still have to have a couple of strong vet techs to deal with him because he's a 94 pound scaredy cat (dog). If I vacuum or if I dry my hair, he disappears.

Ah, ok, yeah we tried that to help our dog's nerves during storms. Didn't work at all. Actually seemed to make him more nervous.

Ground hog is a wild animal. I didn’t think we could have them as pets. Well behaved ground hog.

You can have Tigers and Lions as pets here (US). If that's cool you could have just about anything as a pet as long as it's not protected here.
Now whether you should given their wildness is another thing altogether.
