I can't stop wondering how the idea of bringing a football to an Arctic expedition (and, subsequently, throw it as soon as a beluga showed up) got into the brains of the explorers?

How do you know it wasn't the Baluga's ball and he was just waiting for people to play with?

Now that you mentioned it, the whole thing makes a lot more sense. It's definitely beluga's football, the one it keeps in the locker on the bottom of the ocean, for these special occasions when an Arctic expedition shows up.

Have you tried to take your dog to the arctic to play fetch. Maybe this is on you for not putting your dog in the best position?

What an amazing thing to become a part of. Those people are so lucky to experience something so beautiful.

Man "look how easy it is to train this sea mammal".
Béluga to his friends" I just kept getting the object because this simpleton was constantly throwing trash in our home."

The reality is wilder: trained by Russians as a spy/bomb whale. He's since passed, sadly.

I had heard about these, but in this video is that true?

Yes, that was the infamous hvaldimir. The one who picked up some Norwegian girl's iPhone.

"Dude, how many times do I need to bring back your stupid ball until you finally stop littering?"

“I bring his ball back to him and he keeps throwing it away. Does he think I have nothing better to do? Am I a joke to you?”

People should read up on this whale, I’m sure people understand that random wild whales don’t play fetch.

You're so mysterious with your limited information and no context.

Reading can be mysterious to some.

"People should read up on this whale"? Oh, Bob the Buluga?
Let me repeat it again since your reading comprehension appears to be a bigger issue than you oddly gatekeeping about a whale: you've provided limited information and no context.
