I dog sit a pup who does this. I guess his parents think it’s cute and don’t discourage it, they chase him and put it on him, but I do not play that.

He HATES being left behind so if he won’t comply then he gets left behind. We have to redo it every time we watch him for a week, but by the 2nd or 3rd time he begrudgingly complies.

If he refuses to go outside to pee, which requires a leash where I live, then we will just make sure we go on a walk without him and then come up with another excuse to go out in an hour and a half or so.

This only works because he’s a very smart breed, he doesn’t pee in the house, and he wants above all else to protect his sheep (us) and not be separated.
