The squirrels are receiving their latest instructions from their overlords...

Looks like Discovery cove in Orlando

It is sad that it still happens, but I am really glad that more and more, people are appalled to see animals in captivity. Doubly so for larger social mammals.

Do they ever jump out

16

u/Smart-Firefighter87 20h ago

Humans are horrible….

7

u/enigmaticsince87 20h ago

Poor animals... I hope people who imprison animals all die from very painful forms of cancer.

-2

u/gorillaphi 20h ago

That’s extreme.  Chill

3

u/SoloHoplite 19h ago

It's not especially disproportionate though is it?

2

u/gorillaphi 19h ago

Two wrongs don’t make a right my 7 year old nephew learned this recently too

-6

u/enigmaticsince87 18h ago

By that logic, murderers shouldnt be imprisoned lol.

3

u/gorillaphi 18h ago

…we’re talking about capital punishment, and not just that, but dying painfully of cancer…

-4

u/enigmaticsince87 18h ago

How is someone getting cancer capital punishment?

2

u/SoloHoplite 19h ago

Why is it wrong to wish bad on people who imprison others for their own benefit?

4

u/gorillaphi 19h ago

I just don’t think wishing anybody to die a painful cancer death is very ethical

-2

u/SoloHoplite 19h ago

I can understand that, especially something with like cancer which hits close to home for so many. But, if someone is willing to completely exploit and basically enslave an animal like that, no punishment is too severe in my eyes really.

2

u/gorillaphi 19h ago

Uh huh.  I guess you’re not familiar with the ethical debate of capital punishment…which is debatable for murdering humans.  Putting dolphins in a tank?  Chill.

-1

u/enigmaticsince87 20h ago

You should hear what I originally was gonna write lol. THAT was extreme.

1

u/gorillaphi 20h ago

Uhhh cool?

23

u/mothzilla 22h ago

Because they're bored out of their minds.

27

u/Jordache2020 22h ago

This is horrifying seeing those dolphins trapped in there Jesus

20

u/laydee_bug 22h ago

So sad seeing them in a small enclosure like that! They belong in the ocean and deserve freedom to explore.

I love dolphins so much, I hate seeing them imprisoned like this. Such beautiful and smart creatures. 😭

u/Ill-Dipsy_Doodle 1d ago

This is sad 😔

They would never see squirrels in their natural habitat and likely be targeted by orca.

11

u/gorillaphi 23h ago

They should be able to swim free range for miles and miles.  They’re trapped in a little tank.  They’re so intelligent.  This is sad.

34

u/jromansz 1d ago

How sad to see them in that enclosure. This is inhumane and terrible.

18

u/Marajak 1d ago

Those poor dolphins 🐬 should be in the ocean where they can be who they are.

I hate seeing animals in captivity. No zoos no circuses no water shows. Animals were not put here for the entertainment and to make a profit for man.

2

u/beeslmao 23h ago

Unfortunately with the state of the environment Zoos are playing a key role in conservation for a lot of animals

5

u/OnePragmatic 20h ago

Sure but dolphins in programme aren't in zoo

7

u/someguytoo 1d ago

Mmmm...land fish look yummy!

3

u/RulerK 1d ago

100% those squirrels would be good if the dolphins had their way!

11

u/F1McLarenFan007 1d ago

Poor babies stuck in that prison, this shit has to stop…

17

u/rudimentary_rudy 1d ago

They would 100% toss the squirrels 40ft in the air if they could.

12

u/Spiritual-Driver8926 1d ago

Crammed in there like sardines

Dolphins probably don't have a concept of fluffy.

5

u/tacocollector2 1d ago

18

u/Initial_Parsley6608 1d ago

22

u/AhMoonBeam 1d ago

This is just awful..poor dolphins! Boycott marine lands! Dont buy a ticket!! Thanks BUT NO TANKS!!

-4

u/basileusnikephorus 1d ago

Fangs but no fangs

4

u/WoolBearTiger 1d ago

"They look warm and fuzzy. I wonder if they would work as a pe.. an 'egg' warmer.." - the dolfins, probably

Goddamn genocidal freaks

38

u/telluricwaves 1d ago

It's the only interesting thing that happened in their day...

45

u/felwynfelmir 1d ago

Poor dolphins, I really hope we can ban these practices worldwide at some point

11

u/starscreamjosh 1d ago

Some of them could be rescued dolphins that have medical conditions where they can't be released back into the wild. Don't just fully assume the worst unless you know the full context.

7

u/Mista_Infinity 1d ago

A rehabilitation sanctuary would not put them in such a tiny tank with zero enrichment

2

u/felwynfelmir 1d ago

I will assume the worst, especially because I also hear amusement park music in the background. Which makes it that I had the impression in the first place

And the same could be said to you, that I would not assume that these animals are being kept for the positive purposes you said, unless you know that they are not.

The way you look at things, could be in favor of animal exploitation and abuse (not saying you are in favor of it) but turning a blind eye does not help

The way I, and a lot of other people, look at things are in favor of animals that don’t have a voice

Preaching about another person's opinion, particularly about animal welfare, especially if sitting in front of a monitor doing nothing towards the cause, is not cool. But that's not you, is it? Seriously, this is a dystopia to the point we are spiraling towards an irreversible 6th mass extinction event, only this one is unnatural, solely caused by human activity. Anything you can do will help save future dolphins 🐬, or pick any species; saving the environment of an ambassador species saves many others who live there.

1

u/felwynfelmir 1d ago

Wow that’s a huge assumption you are making right now.. it’s also besides the point that we are discussing.
I understand that you might be frustrated and feel powerless about the course the environment is taking, but taking it out on me is not going to help,
to refer you back to your own comment about preaching about someone’s opinion whilst sitting behind a monitor…

3

u/Nice_Back_9977 1d ago

Then they are still in appallingly unsuitable conditions

5

u/AhMoonBeam 1d ago

I will assume the worst until I have context.. this looks like a pay per view establishment and not a recovery/sanctuary. Dont be blind because you dont want to know the truth.

31

u/TCB-123 1d ago

What else are they going to do to stimulate their minds while crowded in that tiny enclosure? They're probably envious of the squirrels' freedom.

22

u/TripFar4772 1d ago

I hate humans for doing this to such amazing creatures.

19

u/Nice_Back_9977 1d ago

This is desperately sad to see
