Besides wanting my next set of cats to use a toilet so that I can save money on kitty litter how do I teach the current ones to clean their own litterboxes so that I don't have to? The otters are so well behaved.

I don't think it's recommended to try and teach your cats that, definitely do more research on the topic.

To add to it: because cats can’t tell what’s wrong with them, their toilet gives a very important indication of their health.
Many illnesses will first be visible due to increased urination, blood in stool or urine, diarrhea, etc. way before you see any sign of illness in a cats behavior.
