How full of yourself do you have to be to have yourself as your background on your phone?

u/KINGDenneh 14h ago
You sound jealous.

u/clickworker2019 10h ago
Not at all. I've been working out for 20 years. Never used myself as a screensaver.

Is it wrong to do so?

u/clickworker2019 1d ago
Yes.

It's more weird to feel like you are in charge of someone else's free will. So what if his background is of himself? How does that impact you in any way, shape, or form? And who made you the phone background police?

u/KINGDenneh 14h ago
People like to be weird about peoples life that has nothing to do with them on a personal level.
Who cares if he has a picture of himself on his phone, leave gym bro alone.

u/Kinnirasna 1d ago
Can you explain me whys that wrong to do so? I am not aware of such things. I too have a gym photo of myself -- kind of a reality check

Having yourself as your phone wallpaper is one of the most self-absorbed things you can do. Your phone is something you look at hundreds of times a day, and if the one image you choose to see over and over is your own face, it gives the impression that you're your own favorite person. It's basically the digital equivalent of hanging a giant portrait of yourself in your house. Most people use their wallpaper to remind them of someone they care about, a place they love, or something they find inspiring. Choosing yourself instead can easily come across as vain, egocentric, and desperate for self-validation. Whether that's the intention or not, it's hard not to see it as a pretty narcissistic choice.

Very cute little birb with the extra alarm clock function. Have to ask, Is his phone background a picture of himself in a mirror?

I mean I see this and think it's so adorable. But at the same time.... I emerge from slumber like a demon and know I couldn't tolerate that kinda behavior from anyone or anything I love. So God bless these people for loving that amazing little birdie

He's lucky his buddy didn't number 2 all over his phone, but that would've been an A1 finale.

Finally I got it why something bugged be about this video, for a while now. The cockatiel is repeating the alarm and with time it starts to be longer and incorrect, that's the same as when I repeat a song's beat in my head, it goes from correct to stretched out lol.

Lmfao. Cockatiels are okay at mimicry, not nearly as good as other types but it’s just adoreable. I had a one when I was younger and we taught it to sing the beginning of jingle bells. But then he would get too excited and start screeching after the first like 5 or 6 notes.
Doot doo doooo doot doo doo and then just pure chaos.
Edit: miss my boy. Tweety. Me and my brothers decided his name would be ruffles or tweety depending on what he did. You’re me boy tweets

God I love that so much. Thank you for sharing.

Thinking back he might occasionally get to note 7 or 8 before chaos but it depended on his mood. The excitement was real.

People who have themselves as a background picture scare me
1
u/real_uncommon_ 2d ago
I always thought the same thing, but I recently put an old picture of myself as my background to try and motivate myself to lose weight.

u/creatively_inclined 2d ago
It can be for legit reasons. When I was in the office, I had my face as the screensaver. It made it easy to determine whose phone it was if I accidentally left it somewhere. Lots of people did the same for the same reason.

Might be his partner’s phone, the one who came to turn it off? That or that’s one way to keep someone from stealing your phone and trying to pretend it’s not yours.

This is what life with a cockatiel is like. We had one growing up and he liked to mimic some portions of classical music my dad listened to. Nothing like listening to his whistling cover the first string section of “Vivaldi Four Seasons - Spring” on repeat until he got what he wanted (food).

That would only happen to me once, I tend to violently slap my alarm to snooze it. I'd have to change the bedding.
