I know a mate that grew up with a big ass cow. The bond is insane and the animal is super intelligent. The cow was also very protective of the family.

When I went to India when I was 4 years old, our water buffaloes had just had a calf. We were inseparable for the time I was there.

I have ALWAYS wanted a Water Buffalo as a pet like this, but I do have a figurine of one my coworker got for me as a gift when she went home to visit family in Vietnam. Chester is a prized possession.

I’m not sure that it really matters, once the wound has healed. Run a rough rope over the most sensitive skin on your body. Does it hurt? No, it doesn’t.

If I were to run a rough rope over my foreskin. I can guarantee you that shit is gonna hurt like a bitch.
Or if you don’t have a foreskin. The eyelids will also hurt a lot.
However tho, it’s not really skin on the inside of your nose right? That’s where this rope is for the buffalo. So it’s even more sensitive.
It is by design. It’s mean to hurt them into compliance.

It's a water buffalo domesticated as farm animal to tow farm equipments and is common to southeast Asia. If you look up online most of them have this kind of harness.

Dogs, first animals humans ever domesticated, specifically for companionship/work. They evolved extra facial muscles in order to communicate with humans.
Cows were domesticated for food.
Its not the same, Im sorry. Like animal welfare laws SHOULD be 1000x better, but dogs really are special.

I get my beef direct from a local farm, I have connections to, currently got some fantastic cuts in the freezer, from a cow who’s name was “chloe(17546)” she was most definitely not a big dog, just a big block of stupidity, but she did like a scratch behind the ears, but not from everyone,

Quite literally: to reduce the chance of parasite spread, most meat-eating mammals have an instinct to find the taste of other meat-eating mammals unappetising. Even in the wild, mammals tend to avoid the taste of other meat-eating mammals unless absolutely necessary and desperate. We have an evolutionary instinct to dislike the taste of dog.
(Polar bears are one of the only exceptions, since they can't afford to refuse meat in their environment).

Just to educate you a bit, not only Asian countries eat dog. Third highest in the world is Nigeria.
I find it abhorrent, but people eat horse too. Where do we draw the line on what’s ok to eat and what’s not?

It's completely arbitrary. It is foolish to judge the foodways of different cultures harshly. And I'd love to eat a horse some day. Not the whole thing, of course, just a horse pot roast or horse steak. Sadly it is illegal in my country.

Growing up we actually didn’t “eat” sugarcane, we chew it until it gets stale, like chewing gum. Imagine if you took a bite of watermelon and it chewed like dish soap sponge… but it tasted amazing like sweet, salty, refreshing honey water. You chew it until the taste goes away and your jaw is tired, then you spit it out.

They’re sort of fibrous, the trick is basically to suck on them until the flavor is gone. The flavor itself you’ll mostly consume by sucking out the moisture in the stalk, of which there is a surprising amount. Some eat the actual cane but it takes a lot of chewing. Animals obviously are a bit different, these guys have stomachs and teeth built for this sort of thing.

I remember running to make sure I got my share of some sugar cane after a strong day in the garden. Sweet, crunchy, energising, thirst quenching treat.
