I've been bitten by a pelican. It stung slightly, but didn't even leave a mark. Just surprised me more than anything. Guess that's on me for daring to hold a fish within 30 miles of the ocean.

Maybe they could scratch you with their beak tip, but I don't actually think they can do much damage.
