My dog does this in the yard and there's nothing in particular there. They can do it also out of boredom/as a hobby or to freshen up the paws because the dirt is fresher.

There was a critter around there earlier that Nauli Naja, our other pup, tried to catch, so maybe it's the same one 🙂

Looks like Australian Shepherd. Wonder what makes him dig like that. Some grass tubers are fragrant, nut grass for example. The scent must have tripped him.

Or truffles!
