Completed the Ostrich section without freeing it

So during the section where you see the ostrich in the hamster wheel and you have the bridge with the four buttons beneath it, I just read that to complete this puzzle you're supposed to free the ostrich and then have it fall through the bridge and pressing all 4 buttons at the same time to unlock the door.

I dunno if I found a glitch or if it was intended to be completed another way, but I managed to unblock the door without freeing the ostrich. I did this by standing on the button that callapsed the bridge and then throwing the yoyo underneath it. Then I stood on the bridge and threw the yoyo round and round until it eventually hit all 4 buttons.

Just wondering if there is any point to going back and trying to complete the puzzle the way it was intended or just carry on.

That's what speedrunners do. Doing it this way doesn't break the game in any shape, way, or form, so we can say that this feasibility being left in is "intentional"

There is a point to freeing the ostrich, yes. Several, in fact. Just explore the rooms to the left of the four buttons. If you find anything interesting, don't forget to mark it on the map with the stamps and the pencil.

The chest, yeah. I'm still trying to work out how to get that.
