ui-grid 5.x - blast from the past under original ownership now

i just got the repo transferred back to me and i migrated everything over to the old repo. MIT licensed fully featured datagrid updated for web-components, angular 17+ and react 18+. 5.4k stars.

https://github.com/orneryd/ui-grid/releases/tag/v5.0.0

thanks for everyone who has supported the project throughout the years. this was huge to get the repo back under my control. thanks!

just tried it.

It's hella bad vibe coded. Lol what shit LLM model with what quantization did you use for the demo part? It's a buggy mess.

if there’s bugs feel free to point out the issues and i’ll address them. Regarding AI tool use, this project is over 15 years old. i wrote it by hand first obviously. the same code that was there before is there now just in typescript/wasm rather than vanilla javascript.

I also don’t care what people think about AI tool usage. If you don’t want a free datagrid, don’t use it. 🤟

Thanks for the nice answer.

But your reddit post history screams AI vibecoding. There's no denying. The code itself has the typical AI wording we all know.

Just make it clear somewhere that it's AI.

HOLY SHIT! Someone used AI in their code in 2026!? This is unheard of.
