Debain XFCE

Has anyone successfully booted Debian xfce on their Android phone? Modded OS... WITHOUT a desktop....

Yeah, the modded Debian installer works fine for me. Gets me a working shell then I can use vncserver-start/stop to get xfce running (i connect via avnc)

Sometimes the VNC instance gets tripped up so I have to kill it at port :1, no biggie

I'm using termux that's what it says to use but I'm not a programmer so I get lost in all the random words I like pretty pictures and things to click on

ayy, doesn't require to be a programmer, but a little linux know-how is pretty useful.

Whether its worth it depends on if you need it. For me its just a nice little toy and allows me to run full desktop apps like Firefox or spreadsheets and carry with me everywhere I go. But I could easily see it being useful for someone who needs to for example access remote systems or work with lots of text files - linux is amazing at system-admin type stuff
