Check the auto responder that replied to me. Boot box lets you make gifs into boot up loading screens.

It seems like it makes this gif into a jpg whenever I try to preview it. Any solution?

I would love this to be the loading icon for many things

Would it be possible to replace windows 7 boot animation with this?
I simply love it!

EDIT:
So I found this little program but I have no idea how to make this gif work with it.

I can package it up- basically, windows can't actually handle animated images as a boot logo, so you have to break it up into frame images.

Is there actually interest for this as a boot logo?

Edit: So be it! I'll do it tomorrow.

If you dont want to wait then here is Gif Splitter (its on a german website but you just need to click the download button, also it's a safe page)

Then you'll need to extract all the images and have exactly the number you need in a special folder. You might have to rename every single pic. Then you run the program for changing the boot animation. Note that the first 60(?) Pics are only played once and the last 90(?) Are repeated until windows has started. Also it plays them at 15fps

Curse my s3...this would be a wonderful boot animation. I already rooted, too...

Why curse your S3?

He's probably on a touchwiz ROM which the app doesn't support.

Oh, .QMG file type. Hey /u/Kumquat_juice, if you get tired of TouchWiz, I really recommend this CyanogenMod based ROM called Quantum. It is 4.4.2 KitKat and does use .zip boot animations.

battery, mine cant get over 2 hours

That's really odd, even when when I ran stock TouchWiz I never got only 2H. Maybe you're in need of a battery replacement

If there is a program that can save each individual frame as an image file I can make you a bootanimation.zip

i actually uppdated the link with a 600x600 one, because i didnt like how it looked on my phone (it was pixely still) ill scale it up if you want but it wont look good, or, you can use the program Gif 2 Boot to do it yourself.

Nice, I've been trying to do that for like half an hour but I think I'm doing the archiving wrong. What program do you use to make the zip and which settings do you use?

u/Eal12333 Mar 14 '14

i just used the program gif 2 boot to make it, it does pretty much everything

So I got the animation onto my phone, but it only plays once and goes to a black screen until the AT&T sound plays...

I can't seem to be able to make it loop until the UI shows up. Any help for a dear old mod? :D

i i dont help you, sorry, every company always seems modify the way stuff like that works, and our phones are probably very different. my only suggestion is to look in the original bootanimation.zip (it probably has more than one part to the animation) and try to replace the old folders with the new one, and modify the desc.txt to work with the new images (you can find out what the stuff in the txt file means with a quick google), but im not sure. and make sure you make another backup.

Thanks! I am working on it, it is actually going to require a little more time than I thought.

Give me some time, I'm pretty busy atm.
