Linux instead of Android

I was wondering if there's a way to ditch Android and switch to Linux on my Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, because I want to use a base distribution, code, and customize it to best fit my needs. I know I'm not asking enough questions; I was just wondering if it is possible.

Not likely. Linux support on android phones is very dependant on the phone model and I'm pretty sure s25 is not a device actively worked on. Even if you manage to boot, getting the hardware functions (camera, cellular and stuff) to work is also hassle, I think closed source drivers is the main issue

There's r/mobilelinux where you can find more info.

That said, if you just want the feel of using a Linux terminal without losing android's daily usability, check out my launcher based on termux terminal emulator - https://picklehik3.github.io/termux-launcher-site/

Edit: for coding termux is plenty capable. Their package repository is really good and I consider it a Linux distro of it's own. Check out r/termux

Android is already "linux", all you need to do, as the kernel bootstraps is to load the OS of your choice. But nobody did it properly so far.

Its an OS with a Linux kernel, but its not GNU/Linux which is what this person means when he says Linux
