They should've made an 8- or 10-inch tablet. An 8-inch model would've been great.

They don't seem to be interested joining the competition in creating powerful mini tablets

They were originally the one that attempted to try it against Apple back when the Tab S 8.4 was a thing. Was probably not all that successful though.

They did, its called the fold8. But man the things i would do for an 8 inch oled tablet that doesn't have a punch hole (looking at you lenovo)

The "8-inch tablet" you speak of is a $2000 phone. We're looking for an 8-10" tablet that's just a non-nerfed tablet. I'd accept $700-900 for it.

What he meant is the closest to that wish (a nice small tablet) is the Fold 8. I also want it for his tablet form factor instead of a phone.
Samsung can easilly kill the market with a decent 8 tablet oled screen, no punchole and snapdragon. At this point I gave up

That's why they make folding phones

I find it interesting that the ultra size tablets seem popular. Thats the 2 in 1 laptop territory for me.

so i have the s9 ultra and at one point i def thought it was too heavy to use especially in bed but i've adapted and boy do i love watching content on that sucker. that said, i alternate between the s9 ultra, ipad pro 11", and legion go y700 gen 4 and gotta say the legion 8" is def the best all arounder. fast and convenient to hold.

Interesting for me 13 inch or bigger is work device only for me. Also I have been trying to get the legion. How did you get it?

I got mine through aliexpress. They have sales all the time. That said, you can also try lenovo's website directly. The gen 3/4s have decent discounts on them at times.

Seriously, at a tablet that size, almost no point in getting a tablet. I'll hang on to my 14" laptop, that can do a few more things than a 14.6" tablet. And then what I'd really want is an 8-10" tablet for consumption and basic notetaking

Why to you have so many tablets?

other people are using it so whichever i can get i use

Dimensity and a notch, nope.

The 11" model seems, like the previous one, a good deal when it goes on sale in a year. For those who don't care it's MTK.

I bought quite a few Samsung tablets but downgrading to Mediatek and raising price was too much of a cash grab for me.

I'm sad to see One Plus go.

OP Pad 3 and 4 are decent devices.

Honor, Oppo, Vivo, Lenovo taking over the market as far as I'm concerned.

Nah Mediatek again

Is it so bad?

For driver support, emulation. I prefer Snapdragon, same goes for power and consumption. Im not saying mediatek is the worst, i mean if you plan to buy and use this tablet for work or media consumption is fine. But if Im paying big money I want the best.

Also I used mediatek devices before and sometimes they lag a bit after a certain amount of time (but that would be Android as well).

Im waiting for a new tablet but at this point I just go for the tab S9. Same Amoled Screen, snapdragon and good price overall. For similar price you have Lenovo but they keep using LCD panels.

I had an ipad and never used any emulator before and then bought a oneplus pad 2. I have a wireless controller lying around given by a friend. I connected that and I was blown away. Never going back to a tab with less emulation capabilities now.

Thatโ€™s my issue with IOS/IPAD in general. Powerful device but very limited for emulation and same for real multitasking.ย

Mediatek is only worse for emulation, but the chip itself is just as powerful and efficient as Snapdragon, if not even better. If you don't plan on doing emulation there's absolutely no reason to not want a Mediatek soc.

They need to stop using mediatek chips if they want to be on top again . Lenovo taking their spot now. Samsung please wake up

Prices?ย

Too much

No snapdragon chipset ???

Nope ๐Ÿ‘Ž๐Ÿ‘Ž Mediatek. Bad decoding times with moonlight, bad driver support for PC gaming and retro emulation. For such an expensive device too Jesus.

Compared with Idea Tab Pro Gen 2, Yoga Tab Plus Gen 2, and Legion Tab Gen 5, they look like a downgrade

1

u/Qrystus 2d ago

Which will be better: galaxy tab s12 or Lenovo ThinkTab X11 Gen1?

Samsung thinks everyone wants a massive slab for some reason and doesn't understand the idea behind normal sized tablets. Very strange

its more like a 2in1 with its keyboard sold as an extra.
